Mikhail stood before the castle with his knights.

“Your Grace, please dismiss the knights.”

Commander Etrez of the Royal Guard blocked the way.

“Don’t mind them; just guide me to the King.”

“I cannot allow that. Everyone is watching.”

“Sir Etrez, step aside.”

Mikhail spoke sternly, warning him.

They were blocked at the entrance and couldn’t get inside. Mikhail’s patience was slowly wearing thin.

“Your Grace, we will wait outside. Perhaps it would be best if you entered alone for now.”

Byne cautiously suggested to Mikhail.

“…I ask that you leave for today. It might be better for you to come after regaining some composure.”

Etrez was equally firm. The royal knights stood blocking the entrance with tense expressions.

“This appearance is threatening and could cause undesirable consequences.”

“For example?”

Mikhail smiled lightly and glanced at him.

“…Don’t you know?”

“I’ll wait here until the King sees me.”

“Your Grace!”

“If it’s difficult, then move. I will return only after meeting with the King, no matter what happens.”

Etrez nodded to his subordinate, who quickly went inside the castle.

Mikhail looked up at Etrez.

“Sir Etrez, you don’t think I’m standing here because I’m unable to enter, do you?”

“Your Grace, this will not benefit either of us.”

“‘Us’? I’d rather be excluded from that.”

The more he showed his influence, the worse it would be for Adrian. Since he had brought knights, anyone in the court would have seen him by now.

The rumor that Adrian and Mikhail’s relationship had soured would spread quickly.

“Is Duke Heinrich crazy?”

A sharp voice pierced his ears.

The castle gates, which had been firmly shut, opened, and Lady Luther appeared.

“Dismiss the knights immediately.”

“I must meet the King. There are things I need to hear.”

“To come out like this—are you out of your mind?”

If he brought knights in this rain, it was obvious what the answer was.

He exhaled lazily and spoke.

“Lady Luther, do I seem out of my mind to you?”

“First, let’s have a talk. The knights can’t come in, so follow me alone.”

“I hope this isn’t just a waste of time.”

Mikhail nodded toward Byne and followed Lady Luther.

Lady Luther led him to her drawing room. Mikhail sat down and looked at her.

“Speak if you have something to say. Though it might be more of an excuse than an explanation.”

“If the Duke behaves this way, surely he knows it will turn the situation against him. But I still don’t understand what has made you so angry.”

“It seems your relationship with His Majesty the King has soured.”

He chuckled, shrugging at her words.

“Don’t mock me. I, too, have been displeased with my son lately for not listening to my opinions.”

“Duke Loren lost his life in an attack.”

“That’s something we wouldn’t know about. The Duke went to the Loren estate, so surely you know more about it than I do.”

It was only then that Mikhail realized what Lady Luther wanted.

He had suspected it, but he hadn’t expected her to approach it this way.

“I only did what the Duke would have done. Is there a problem with that?”

“Duke Loren should have been left alone.”

“You should be grateful I handled what you couldn’t. Is it strange? Heh.”

Lady Luther tilted her head back and laughed.

“Why? Has your mind changed now? If the Duke is a Bayern then the Loren family is indeed your enemy, what’s the problem?”

The real issue was that it was Adrian, with Konrad’s blood flowing through him, who had done it instead.

“I don’t shift my responsibilities onto others, unlike some people.”

Mikhail stood up from his seat.

“So, you’re not planning to hide it anymore.”

“If you already know, why would I need to hide it?”

“The others don’t know yet, do they? I plan to keep it that way. And think carefully. The one who will be in danger is not the Duke, but that child who seems emotionally unstable.”

The child she referred to as emotionally unstable was probably Dahlia.

Mikhail’s face grew even harder.

“Feel free to involve her. But you must accept the consequences that come with it.”

“Now you’re openly talking about treason.”

“Is that all you have to say?”

There was no more value in talking. It was just a waste of time.

“Duke, if you leave here like this, tomorrow’s paper will say that the Loren family was wiped out under Duke Heinrich’s leadership.”

“Go ahead, try it.”

“Then your precious wife will be shocked, won’t she?”

Lady Luther asked with a smile.

“She will welcome Duke Loren’s death.”

“They’re family, aren’t they?”

“Not all families are the same, though. I’d like to ask the King if he’s ever been treated like just another son of the late king.”

“Duke! Watch your words!”

Lady Luther raised her voice. Mikhail glanced at his watch.

“This will get more interesting. You’ll soon find out what you’ve touched.”

“Let’s not forget that we’re in the same boat.”

“Boats can be sunk, too.”

Mikhail left the drawing room, his steps grew faster.
