“I’ll need to ask that woman where she got her perfume.”
“I didn’t know you liked rose scent.”
“I don’t. I’ve smelled it enough to get sick of it.”
In fact, it had almost made him react with aversion. He had tried so hard to erase the strong scent of Emilia that had clung to him.
But now, it had faded to the point where he almost found himself longing for it.
“I hope the woman who becomes your lover wears rose scent.”
Mikhail soon thought of the list in his hand. If the Marquis was lying, he would find out once he checked it.
It would also reveal whether he had any lovers.
“Now, shall we start the briefing?”
Baron Benjamin stood up and asked. The club members nodded and listened attentively.

Dell’s face turned pale when he saw the newspaper in Emilia’s hands.
“Madam…”
“So, you knew too, Dell.”
Emilia realized that everyone except her had known about the matters related to the Duke. She hadn’t heard about it last time, either, because of the Marquis.
It was probably done out of consideration, fearing she’d be shocked if she found out.
“Are you alright? Everyone is talking about the Loren family.”
“They probably think it was Duke Heinrich’s doing.”
“…Do you not think it was, Madam?”
Dell seemed to take it as though she believed in the Duke. Her wide, eager eyes were asking her to confirm it.
Emilia set the newspaper down and shook her head.
“It doesn’t matter to me anymore whether it was the royal family or the Duke who destroyed the Loren family. I abandoned the Loren family when I left the Duke’s house.”
She had no intention of going back. If she had, she would never have left in the first place.
“Dell, it’s not too late. It might be dangerous to stay with me.”
Emilia was thinking of providing Dell with what she needed to live.
She might even be happier not being around her.
“Where else would I go?”
Emilia pulled out the note that Boestin had given her.
“Miss Boestin will help you.”
“…But what if you’re in danger? I want to stay by your side.”
“Dell.”
“Madam, I’m fine. Please, let me stay with you!”
She shook her head. With Boestin’s help, she could move to Valoh and live more comfortably.
“Valoh might offer a more comfortable life than here.”
“There’s no one there. I don’t want to leave my homeland.”
Dell was resolute. In the end, Emilia told her to just think about it, then tucked the note back into her pocket.
“Madam, stability is important. Don’t read those sensational newspapers. The Muven newspaper is full of wrong information. The article about Lady Leah Chevron’s pregnancy was nonsense.”
Dell looked angry just by thinking about it.
‘People were quite loud about Lady Chevron’s pregnancy story.’
Although it was a bit delayed, Spiegel had published a rebuttal article about it.
After that, there had been no significant news from the Chevron family.
It seemed like even Lady Luther had turned her back on them.
“…Ah.”
A sharp pain shot through her stomach. Though she hadn’t been eating much due to morning sickness, she hadn’t thrown up recently.
Perhaps seeing the newspaper today had shocked her, as the pain began to resurface.
“Please, rest now. This could lead to a bigger issue. Should I call the doctor? Or would you prefer not to?”
“Dell, I’m fine.”
Dell had only learned of her pregnancy after coming here. Though shocked, she immediately did everything she could to care for her.
Whenever she craved something, she would make sure to prepare it. Emilia had only realized here that Dell had a knack for cooking.
“Please, go to your room.”
Dell urged Emilia.
“I’ll make some warm tea. You’ve finished your work for today, so you should rest.”
In the end, Emilia went to her room. She lay down on the bed, doing nothing but staring at the ceiling.
“If you need anything, just let me know!”
Dell pulled the blanket up to her neck and then left, closing the door behind her.
In the quiet room, Emilia smiled faintly.
‘Somehow, it feels more lively here than at the Duke’s estate.’
It didn’t seem like Dell was struggling. She was energetically going about her day.
Though sometimes her protectiveness seemed excessive, Emilia didn’t mind it at all.
‘It seems Dell doesn’t need to go back.’
She had worried when she found out she was carrying the Duke’s child, but she hadn’t once said she wanted to return.
Soon, Dell came back with the warm tea. Emilia sat up and took a sip.
“By the way, everyone’s been asking.”
“About what?”
“They’re curious about what kind of perfume you use, Madam.”
“…Perfume?”
Emilia didn’t use any perfume. She didn’t even have a scented sachet.
“They say you smell wonderful. They’re all asking about it because they think it’s a rose scent.”
“…Really?”
“But you don’t use any perfume, right? When I told them that, they didn’t believe me. I felt a little frustrated, but it’s not like I was lying.”
“So that’s what happened.”
Emilia sniffed her own body. She didn’t smell anything.
Of all scents, why rose? She couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy.
“The tea should help you sleep. You should get some rest early.”
Emilia nodded and set the cup down. She laid back in bed and waited for Dell to leave.
