Emilia managed to lift her limp body from the bed.

If she could, she would have killed him. She had done it many times in her dreams, but in reality, she could only wake up powerlessly in bed.

She often passed out without even realizing when it had happened.

This time, she found herself freshly washed and dressed neatly in her pajamas.

“….Why is he doing this?”

Emilia felt there was something subtly different about his behavior.

“Ah!”

Just then, she remembered the book she had hastily hidden between the mattress and the headboard before Adrian had entered the room.

Emilia pulled out the forbidden book. Del had changed the cover, but she had been too anxious to leave it out.

“There was one son and two daughters in the royal family of King Kasen von Bayern.”

The record stated that the son had two sons of his own. There was no mention of the daughters’ lineage.

The two sons of the prince were buried underground along with the last King of Bayern when the dynasty changed.

“There are no survivors with the Bayern bloodline.”

After King Konrad, the distinct traits of the royal bloodline disappeared, but before the Jalliar dynasty, it was said that those who inherited the throne had golden hair and red eyes.

However, no portraits of the previous dynasty remained, making it feel more like a legend.

But this book detailed their appearances vividly.

[Brilliant golden hair and red eyes like the blazing sun. Sharp, well-defined eyebrows and a prominent nose, with long, lush eyelashes that gave them a doll-like appearance.

The men had shoulders as broad as the Telferu Sea and a tapering waistline that seemed to be an inverted kingdom of Bartsch; they were tall, strong, and solidly built.

Unlike ordinary people, they were born with a beast-like nature. Their bodies were exceptionally balanced, and they possessed strength beyond human limits.

Their agility was unmatched, making it impossible to follow their speed when wielding a sword.

……

The women had beautifully sculpted features and graceful curves. Their pale skin remained unburned even under the harsh sun.

One characteristic that has been passed down through the Bayern lineage is the red eyes, detailed as shimmering with a golden hue that resembles the mirage patterns of the blazing sun…… occasionally, ancestors suffered from madness…]

A mirage?

Even if the red eyes mixed with golden waves are mentioned, discovering such a detail would not be easy.

To verify the pattern of the iris, merely getting close wouldn’t suffice; one would need to be close enough to stare intensely, forehead to forehead, to possibly see it.

However, since both have large eyes, perhaps it might be easier to observe than expected.

Emilia, having faced Mikhail up close several times, never had the opportunity to notice such details given the circumstances.

“The other characteristics seem to fit, though…”

Emilia then opened another book.

This one outlined the ventures of the Bayern family up to the present. Ranging from charitable activities to trade efforts aimed at boosting the nation’s economy.

From the book alone, it was hard to understand why an uprising would happen, given such a commendable royal history.

However, as with any family history, the books tended to highlight only the positive aspects.

Especially books about the royal family.

“What exactly is true?”

Emilia’s confusion deepened. If it was not just a revolt but a betrayal, her father, who had contributed to the rise of the Jalliar dynasty, would be considered a traitor.

She felt as if everything she knew was being invalidated.

“It can’t be. That just can’t be right.”

Yet, once seeded, her doubts continued to grow.

Emilia’s uneasy eyes drifted back to the forbidden books.

It seemed the only way to confirm was to ask directly, but even if it were not true, she doubted she would receive a straightforward answer.

In the end, she was left to try and sleep with a troubled mind.

* * *

Lady Luther was furious upon hearing that Adrian had taken Leah to the Duke’s residence.

“What on earth is everyone around doing? Can’t they even stop that?”

“I’m sorry.”

The aide bowed deeply. Lady Luther’s bulging veins and glaring eyes were enough to instill fear in anyone she faced.

The aide thought she was no different from the witches described in ancient classic texts. Unable to raise his bowed head, he remained frozen in place.

“Do you think a mere verbal apology is enough? There’s nothing words can’t fix!”

Her anger was boiling over. She wanted to throw something in her rage, but being among those who supported Adrian, she struggled to maintain what little calm she had left.

“Get it sorted out. Nothing significant would have happened. Besides, it seems His Majesty did not go there merely for amusement, right?”

Countess Chevron asked her daughter.

“Of course. By tomorrow, there will be articles about it in the gossip columns.”

Leah, who had been quietly holding her position, responded.

“Don’t worry too much, Aunt. His Majesty was simply setting the stage for me.”

“I hope it wasn’t all just foolish behavior there.”
