Chapter 24
Aaaaagh. Looking at Bezel brought out her conservative tendencies that she did not even know she had.
This man was too aggressive!
If anything, Eden was rather open-minded, but that did not mean she could understand a man she barely knew walking around with his d**k out from their first meeting, casually suggesting kisses, and kissing her face without asking for consent.
“Men and women… I don’t think such gender matters when it comes to healing. To attach such meaning to this sacred act.”
Bezel’s eyes drooped dejectedly. His upturned eyes sagged down gently like a puppy, creating an impression that made her feel like she should immediately run over and comfort him.
“I didn’t know you’d take my actions that way. I just wanted to be more helpful to the person who saved me…”
“No, th-that’s…”
What a mess. She hadn’t meant to, but she had unintentionally insulted Bezel’s kindness.
‘Is that so…? Am I the strange one?’
Come to think of it, maybe she had overreacted. As Bezel said, this was just an act of healing, and she felt no lewd intention from his kiss.
Looking at it like that, she really had been the only one overreacting. The one possessed by lustful thoughts was not Bezel. It was her.
“…I’m sorry.”
Seeing Eden finally apologize, Bezel nodded, his expression still drooping.
Ah. She kept thinking this, but that face was cheating. When such a handsome face looked dejected like that, it made her feel like she had committed twice the wrongdoing!
“The preparations are done. Ahem, I’ll be heading out now.”
The only way to escape this uncomfortable situation was to go hunt the demon. Eden fanned her now-flushed cheeks with her hand and added,
“It’s safe outside the forest, so wait here.”
The place where she and Bezel were standing now was the entrance to the forest where the demon was hiding. Thanks to the villagers having sprinkled salt and holy water around the area as soon as the demon entered the forest, the demon was trapped in the forest and could not come out.
“Can’t I come with you?”
“It’s dangerous. Just standing outside is enough. Demons are sensitive to divine power, so just you being nearby will scare them.”
“Ah…”
Eden checked the sword on her back and the gun at her hip one more time, then walked toward the forest.
“Well then, I’ll really be going now. Even if strangers ask you to follow them, don’t go and just wait.”
Without even turning around, she tossed the words over her shoulder. Bezel obediently replied, “Okay.” Before long, Eden disappeared into the forest.
“How naive.”
As soon as Eden’s figure disappeared from view, Bezel pulled up the corners of his mouth, which had been drooping.
She could have just said she’d be back, but giving warnings fit for a six or seven-year-old was quite amusing. He had felt this before, but Eden seemed to think of him like a child left by the water’s edge.
Well, that’s probably why she fell for it when he packaged the kiss as a noble act.
Bezel licked his lips, still feeling the softness of her cheeks. He already knew the feeling of a place even softer, hotter, and wetter than this. Having moved from her arms to her face, now it was time to move from her face to her lips.
It felt so good even when she was asleep, so what would it be like when she was awake? Just imagining it made Bezel press down on his member, which was shamelessly throbbing through his pants.

The demon Eden would face today was the lowest of the low, one that could not even maintain a human form.
There’s a saying that humans are the creatures most resembling the gods among all their creations. Maybe that’s why. Demons too, the more godlike power they possessed, became closer to god’s form, that is, human form.
According to information obtained beforehand from the villagers, the demon hiding here was said to have the form of a crow. Not a lion or tiger, but a crow. It was cute to the point of being ridiculous.
“No wonder they said I could take my time. The only attack it can do is pecking.”
Eden roughly cut through the thorny bushes blocking her path with her sword. Though it seemed like she swung carelessly, proper force was behind it. The tough branches were cut away with a quick slash slash.
