Chapter 5
The robe had certainly been roomy on Eden, but when draped over the man’s shoulders, it somehow looked small. Even the long length of the robe, which reached below her knees, barely even covered his thighs.
As Eden absentmindedly checked the length of the robe, she suddenly noticed something strange between his legs.
‘What is that?’
At first, she thought he was hiding a weapon. Something thick and long, like a club. But as she looked closer, it was…
“Eep.”
Startled, Eden stumbled backward. She was in her late twenties now. She hadn’t lived promiscuously, but she wasn’t someone who had protected her purity as if it were worth anything either.
She thought she’d met all the men worth meeting, and seen all the c***s worth seeing….
‘That’s a real weapon. Whoever the woman who ends up with him is will have a hard time.’
The size was truly extreme. Just looking at it made the area between her legs ache.
“Um, Miss Hunter, if you keep staring at me like that… I…”
Beelzebub, pretending to be shy, lowered his eyes and trailed off. He tugged at the robe as if suddenly remembering to cover himself.
He realized this woman was a Hunter from the title the other knights used to address her.
He didn’t know much about the affairs of the human realm, but he knew that Hunters were mercenaries who went around killing demons in place of the few exorcist priests.
He expected that getting close to her would surely bring an unpleasant smell, but her scent was rather sweet. It was a fragrance unlike anything he had ever smelled, even from the most powerful incubi.
“Ah, I’m sorry!”
Startled, the woman raised both hands in surrender. Her long sleeves rolled down, revealing her blackened right hand.
‘Hmm?’
Beelzebub’s eyes widened. The black spots covering her skin were a mark of Marbas’s power. No wonder she smelled good, she was cursed by a high-ranking demon.
Even though Beelzebub was a leader of Hell’s legions, he didn’t know everything about every demon living there. However, the one he was facing was none other than Marbas. A high-ranking demon who could stand shoulder to shoulder with Lucifer, the strongest in Hell. Marbas was someone Beelzebub himself would bow to in the presence of.
‘This one might be quite a tasty treat.’
Beelzebub’s gaze toward Eden changed instantly. The curse of a demon alone has the power to corrupt a human. On the surface she seemed fine, but the despair and frustration caused by constant pain would have rotted her insides, just like her skin.
There was nothing more delicious than a corrupted human. To be honest, this woman was more than ‘quite good’. She was a rare and valuable prey that would be hard to encounter again.
Her value didn’t even end there. Curses inevitably bring frustration and anger. Where else could there be a human more suitable to open the gates of Hell!
However, his thoughts couldn’t continue further. The Holy Knight, who had escorted all the followers outside, approached them.
“We’ll head to the nearby church first. You must be shocked and tired but I need to ask you a few things.”
Church? The word triggered instinctive repulsion and Beelzebub’s brow slightly furrowed. Just then, Eden shouted.
“Me? I’m going too?”
“Yes. You too, Miss Hunter.”
Beelzebub’s furrowed brow instantly smoothed out. If he was going with that woman, there was no reason he couldn’t go.
“Okay. I’ll follow you.”
Beelzebub nodded obediently, and then adjusted his robe to hide the bulge at his lower body that showed his interest had been stirred. His gaze, however, still remained fixed on the tempting prey before him, even as he nodded toward the knight.
