Chapter 60
Eden’s prediction that she would have a nightmare was right. In the dream, Eden was having dinner with her parents, just like any other evening.
Her mother was deeply knowledgeable about food. Even pasta made with the same ingredients would become a magnificent dish worthy of a noble’s table once it passed through her hands.
That evening’s menu was tomato pasta. It was one of her mother’s signature dishes, made with great care and devotion.
“Thank you for the meal!”
Just as Eden had scraped her plate clean and set down her fork, a scream came from outside.
“Aaaah! Run!”
“It’s a demon! A demon has appeared!”
Back then, the appearance of a demon was a rare occurrence, one that happened perhaps once every few decades. Eden met her mother’s eyes and tilted her head.
“A demon…. There haven’t even been any natural disasters lately.”
“I know. Is it an emergency evacuation drill?”
Even as they spoke, the screams and shouts of people grew closer and closer. Something was wrong. The moment Eden thought that, her father was the first to shout.
“Honey! Eden!”
He pulled them both to their feet one after the other and went into the bedroom, throwing open the closet door. At his grave expression, her mother finally realized this was no emergency evacuation drill.
“It seems too late to leave… Hide in here.”
“What about you?”
Her mother grabbed her father’s hand as he tried to close the closet door. Her father smiled gently as if to tell them not to worry, then picked up the hunting rifle propped against the side of the closet.
“I’ll stand by the door. I have no intention of going outside, so don’t worry. Still, we should be prepared just in case.”
‘No, father. Stay here with us! It’s too dangerous!’
Eden opened her mouth to cry out, but no sound came out. Her surprise at being unable to speak was brief. Soon, Eden realized she was dreaming.
Ah. What she was seeing now was a vision of the past.
Before long, the demon would break into her house. At the sound of a gunshot ringing in her ears, her mother would disobey her father’s words to stay hidden and rush out of the closet, and the demon would brutally murder her parents.
‘No! Just run outside now, while you still can!’
Even knowing it was a dream, it was a scene she never wanted to see again. Eden cried out urgently, but only ragged, wheezing breaths escaped her parted lips. She tried to drag her father and mother away, but now even her body refused to obey.
The situation unfolded exactly as fate had decided.
‘This is my dream and I can’t even control it.’
Just as Eden was wringing out a groan in her suffocating frustration,
“Hnngh… h!”
Suddenly, she felt a soft, yielding sensation between her legs.
‘…What is this?’
It was a completely different development from any of her previous dreams. Flustered, Eden blinked.
Each time she blinked, the scene before her grew hazier. While her father was soothing the two of them, her vision warped until she could no longer make out any shapes, and finally shattered completely the moment he stepped out of the room.
It felt as though someone had yanked her consciousness sharply from an entirely different world. Eden squeezed her eyes shut one last time against the rushing sensation of falling, then opened them.
“…Mmh.”
She groaned and looked straight ahead to find a white ceiling. After a few seconds of stillness, Eden realized she had woken from her dream. She was usually the type who never woke once she fell asleep, but it was always like this around this time of year. Even when she barely managed to fall asleep, she would have nightmares and frequently wake from them.
But something was strange. She had woken from the dream, so the unidentifiable sensation from below should have disappeared with it, yet the wet feeling remained as if it had followed her out.
‘What on earth is going on?’
Eden lowered her still half-asleep eyes. And she came face to face with someone she could never have imagined.
“…Bezel?”
Golden hair that maintained its own brilliant color even in the dark room, eerily vivid purple eyes. Eden had been staring into those wide, startled eyes as if entranced. Then, a beat later, she registered their position.
“Wh-what the hell is…?”
Even through the haze clouding her head, she could tell something was wrong. Her body, which should’ve been lying quietly in bed, was half hanging off the side, and both her legs were draped over Bezel’s shoulders.
But that was nothing compared to what Bezel was doing to her. He had his face pressed close to her s*x, tongue extended as if about to touch her underwear at any moment.
