“Of course you’re sleeping alone. Who else would you be sleeping with?”
Seriously, a grown man whining like this. Eden was about to snap back again when she remembered that he was a poor victim who was kidnapped and nearly sacrificed. She made an effort to speak in a soothing voice.
“Don’t worry. I’ll be right in the next room. You won’t get kidnapped away by strange guys again while you’re sleeping.”
“Still…”
“You’re not suggesting you want to sleep with me when we just met today, are you? I refuse! No way! Not happening!”
Bezel looked wounded by the three consecutive rejections. Seeing such a handsome man look like that weakened her heart, but she couldn’t give in.
It wasn’t Eden who was in danger, it was Bezel. The idea that only men could be sexually active was a stereotype. Eden was a woman who was sexually aggressive and had a strong libido, even pouncing first when she had a boyfriend.
And yet, she had been celibate for seven years due to the curse. It wasn’t that there was a condition against having s*x with the curse, but because men found her condition disgusting and wouldn’t come near her that way.
With all that pent up, Eden was like a volcano that could explode at any moment. If she made one wrong move, she might pounce on this angel-faced man.
‘I mean, I can’t stop thinking about his d**k.’
Eden recalled Bezel’s thick member that she had seen a few hours ago. Though honestly, she didn’t even need to rely on her memory from the mansion.
Bezel was still wearing nothing but Eden’s robe. He kept it closed to cover himself, but given its sheer size, the outline was faintly visible through the thin fabric.
‘…What kind of thoughts am I having about a crime victim?’
Eden was suddenly overwhelmed with self-loathing. Worse still, this man even had divine power, making it inappropriate to have such lewd thoughts. Wouldn’t this be no different from sexually harassing a priest?
Of course, Bezel hadn’t said he had divine power. But how else could you explain the temporary healing of the curse?
The dark spots that had disappeared with his kiss eventually returned to her hand and arm after some time. It was only temporary, but while they were gone, Eden had been free from pain.
It would have been better if she were completely healed, but even this was more than enough. This was the reason Eden had changed her mind and brought Bezel to her home, despite being absolutely against it earlier.
“There’s no need to be shy just because it’s someone else’s house. Make yourself comfortable. Sprawl out on the couch if you want. Help yourself to the food.”
“You’re really kind. Thank you.”
Of course. She should be kind. He was now the precious person who will heal her curse from now on.
“Ahem, this kindness is not something I offer to just anyone, so be grateful. Well then, I’ll leave you to it.”
Eden, having already emphasized her generosity at least a dozen times, made sure to show it once more before turning and stepping out of the room. Click. As soon as the door closed, the corners of Eden’s mouth crept up.
“Trading room and board for divine power… this is a total win for me.”
In front of Bezel, she had acted like she was being incredibly generous, saying all sorts of things like how rare it was to find someone who would let a complete stranger sleep over, how she had saved his life and was even providing a room until his memory returned, and how he should consider meeting a Hunter like her the luck of his lifetime, but in truth, the person who should really be grateful was Eden herself.
There were many sick and ailing people in the world, but few priests with divine power. To meet one, you had to book at least a year in advance and donate an amount equivalent to several months of a commoner’s living expenses to the temple.
Even then, the time you got with a priest was maybe ten minutes.
Eden thought of herself as a sucker for pouring money into the temple for those ten minutes, but she diligently saved money and visited the priest once in a while.
Her curse multiplied endlessly like cockroaches. Her hands and arms were just the tip of the iceberg. What showed on the outside was nothing compared to how much of her insides were already ruined.
At this rate, she would cross the river of death before even finding the target of her revenge. Even if she couldn’t cure the disease caused by the curse, she had no choice but to receive help from the temple to at least prevent its progression.
“But now I can receive treatment whenever I want.”
Humming to herself, Eden entered her room. She threw off her dark clothes, pulled on her pajamas, and dove into bed.
“Maybe it’s because I’m not stressing about the curse anymore, my heart feels so light.”
Barely three seconds after muttering and putting her head to the pillow, Eden fell fast asleep, snoring lightly. A blessed sleeping habit that would make even the demon of sleep cry.
