When he placed his hand there, he realized it was his own member moving inside her. Carlton’s face flushed hot.
“Ah…!”
Embarrassed, he pressed that spot firmly with his palm.
“My lady… can you feel it? Me, going in and out of you.”
Carlton, too, was not in his right mind from excitement. He exhaled slowly, as if trying to steady himself, and explained the situation to her.
“Don’t, d-don’t, press…! Ngh, ah!”
As his palm pressed down, her insides were stimulated further, making more of her cling to his length. An intensely peculiar pleasure made her nose tingle.
He had no intention of heeding her plea to stop pressing. Instead, he pressed deeper and moved faster.
“Something’s… going to come out! Sir Carlton, stop…!”
“I-I’m going to come too, my lady!”
“Ahh!”
“Lady Edith…!”
Carlton called her name as he erupted inside her. Feeling her belly fill up again with the gushing sensation, Edith, for some reason, felt a sense of satisfaction and unconsciously let a small smile curve her lips.
Just like with Kaidros, Carlton carefully wiped down Edith’s languid, sprawled body with a clean cloth.
As if coming to her senses, she covered herself with the blanket, a bit embarrassed now, and cleared her throat to deliver the belated greetings she’d intended.
“Ahem, Sir Carlton… have you been well since that day?”
Carlton, his gaze toward her somehow different, helped her dress and spoke.
“Yes, I have been fine. And you, my lady? Has there been any trouble?”
She had had trouble, but with the dragon by her side, she hadn’t been worried.
“Umm, there was some, but you needn’t worry. I was more concerned because I hadn’t seen you. I wondered if something had happened to you because of His Highness, the Crown Prince…”
It was a cautious thing to bring up one’s master to a sworn vassal, but after the events in the dungeon, Edith felt a sort of camaraderie with Carlton and asked boldly.
“Lady Moulton…”
As Carlton suddenly grew serious, his tone shifting, Edith thought she might have overstepped and was about to excuse herself, but she paused at his next words.
“Be cautious of… my master. Of His Highness, the Crown Prince.”
“Huh…? Why is that?”
“I can’t give you details, but His Highness has been continuing his investigation into your background. The problem is, it seems he’s recently seen some results.”
Where on earth could there be anything to dig up about her? Edith was thoroughly sick of the Crown Prince’s persistent fixation on her.
“If at all possible, avoid situations where the two of you are alone. It would be best to stay around others.”
Even if she asked Carlton why the Crown Prince was digging into her past, he couldn’t give her an answer. He, too, had been cut off from the details by His Highness…
Frustrated by the situation but heeding Carlton’s warning, Edith took his words to heart and resolved to keep Kaidros close from now on.
‘I can’t just blindly avoid him. The Hunt is coming soon, and there’s something I have to do there…’

Upon returning to the mansion, Edith immediately sought out Kaidros. She found him, as always without needing to search, sitting in the chair in her room.
“Kai! Please help me!”I
Seeing Edith requesting help the moment she returned from an outing, Kaidros looked incredulous, then softened his expression and asked.
“Haven’t I already helped you to the point of tedium?”
“It’s not that. The Hunting Festival will be held soon. Could you come with me?”
“Haa, as you well know, I am not a human noble. The mind magic only works within this mansion, not inside the imperial palace. You’re aware of that, aren’t you?”
While he could deceive the people of the mansion, how could he pass through the palace gates, which every noble house of the Empire would be watching? And there would likely be wards to suppress magic. Even if they wouldn’t be much use against him, their aura was extremely unpleasant.
“Then as a guard…?”
Watching the pondering Edith, Kaidros set down the book he was reading, rose from the chair, and walked over to her.
He then removed one of the earrings he was wearing and handed it to her.
“If you are ever in a desperate situation, shatter this earring.”
“What happens then…?”
Edith reflexively cupped her hands and accepted the earring, looking up at him. Kaidros smirked, grabbed her chin, and spoke.
“At that moment, I will save you.”
“Ah-ha…! Thank you, Kai. But could you please let go of my chin?”
At Edith’s words, Kaidros smiled languidly and looked down at her.
Edith, feeling as if she were before a predator, tried to take a step back, but his hand caught her waist. He leaned close to her ear and whispered in a voice laden with jealousy.
“No, I cannot. Where have you been again, committing such audacious acts, that your body is so full of a human man’s scent… Today, I must at least claim that mouth of yours.”
He then pressed his lips to hers. He held her by the waist and chin for a long time, until the feeling began to leave Edith’s lips. Then he released her, gave her a quick lick with his tongue, and returned to his spot.
“I’ll let you off with just that, as a special favor.”
Edith, toyed with by the capricious dragon, flushed red with embarrassment all the way to her neck and promptly threw him out the window again.
