I involuntarily sucked in a breath at Rai’s question. . It felt like I had been caught doing something I shouldn’t. But soon, I regained my composure. After all, the blessing of the Tower was something beyond my control.

“…Uh, yes? I was wondering about that too. Haha…”

Rai was silent for a moment. He closed his eyes and frowned slightly, then opened them. Then, with a snap of his fingers, a beam of light shot out the window.

As I stared at him, wondering what the hell he was doing, there was a loud bang on the door and two mages burst in panting.

“Master, you called for us!”

“Did you, did you summon us!”

‘Those mages must be…the ones who were sent to spy on me and ran out earlier.’

Rai walked slowly toward the two terrified mages and held up the crystal ball.

“Do you see this?”

“Yes…?”

The two mages squinted at the orb like they didn’t quite understand what Rai was showing them.

“…Did that girl from another world undergo a magic assessment?”

“No. This is the result of discerning the attributes of the elven exchange student here.”

“What? That can’t be…? With the blessing of the Tower…What!”

“Explain,” said Rai briefly.

The mages, who had been alternating between looking at the orb me, fell to their knees.

“W-We, um, we granted the blessing of the Demon Tower under the same conditions as before.”

“I-It’s true!”

Rai sat at the desk with his arms crossed. He turned to the mages as soon as they finished answering.

“The same conditions as before…”

“S-So…”

The male mage faltered, and the female wizard standing beside him took a step forward.

“…Among those who attended the Royal Academy entrance ceremony last month…there must have been beings that came from another world.”

Another world? …Wait a minute. I barely survived Rai’s initial examination. I can’t just die in the next stage…

I kept my poker face as straight as I could and stared at the mages’ back. Suddenly, I glanced towards Rai, and our eyes met.

‘…Did he catch me?’

For a moment, I thought my heart dropped. I smiled awkwardly, looking clueless. Rai shifted his gaze away from me again and spoke to the mages.

“So, you set conditions to identify beings from other worlds? What criteria did you use?”

The female mage hesitated a bit at Rai’s question, then said, “I apologize… Specifically, it’s those who have crossed the boundaries of the treaty. Currently, since we cannot determine where beings from other worlds come from, we used the edge of the continent, the boundary of the treaty, as a general criterion. I’m sorry.”

Upon hearing the wizard’s explanation, Rai finally stood up from his desk and said, “So you didn’t know beforehand that an exchange student from Regia would be in the entrance ceremony this time?”

“…We were aware. Ah…!”

“Ah…! Tower Lord, then…!”

The two mages who had been answering nonchalantly shouted in panic at the same time.

Rai nonchalantly replied, “If it had ever occurred to you that the territory of the elves, Regia, is outside the boundaries of the treaty…”

Rai took a step closer to the mages and gave them a chilling smile.

“Then the elf student wouldn’t have received the blessing of the Tower and had been able to cast a 7th-level Judgment on the Mage Tower.”

“Tower Lord, we made a mistake. Please forgive us!”

“Tower Lord, we were wrong. Please forgive…!”

The two mages started begging for forgiveness at the same time.

Oh…so that was it? Because I’m an elf enrolled into the Royal Academy, I oddly matched the conditions they prepared to single out Mina. For that time, I had become the unforeseen outlier.

Phew… This should keep me from getting caught from being from another world. I barely made it out alive this time too…But it felt like my lifespan had been cut short from this nerve-wracking experience.

Turning to the two kneeling figures, Rai spoke with a calm face.

“Suspend all your current missions and take a month off to reflect.”

“T-Then, um…”

One of the mages looked at me, then back at Rai—like they were speaking in a language only they understood. Unfortunately, I knew what they’re asking.

‘What about our surveillance mission?’

“That, too, is suspended. There’s no need for it now.”

“Yes… Understood.”

“Then get out of here.”

The mages bowed to Rai several times and left the room, their shoulders slumped. Rai looked back at me and shook his head.

“Let’s continue the lesson.”
