Chapter 68
My nervousness grew as the minutes ticked by without any result. I took another deep breath, picked up that annoying grimoire, said a prayer, and placed my hand on the page.
In that moment, a brilliant light hovered over the book, confirming that my prayer had worked.
[2-star Amplification Spell – Can speak loudly enough to be heard within 200m. Usable once a day.]
[1-star Halo Glow Spell – Can create a radiant effect that makes the complexion look good. Usable for 10 minutes a day.]
[(Rare) 2-star Regia Communication – Can unlock the list in Regia Communication. Automatically detects elves within 1km.]
Rare?! A rare one appeared!
‘But how does leveling up Regia Communication help me kill Leviathans? Can I ask for help from a friendly elf who happens to be nearby?’
Honestly, I had my doubts about the effectiveness of this one, but the other two were so bad that it seemed like I had no choice. Plus, the fact that it was rare was kind of appealing.
Naturally, I chose the third one, and with a beep, a message window popped up. Along the side of the window, which usually only opened when Ventus was firing off insults, was a list I had never seen before.
[Contacts (1)
– Tutu]
[No additional contacts nearby.]
What the…Well, I guess this was a dud, too. I don’t have any elves to add, and if they were that easy to see, Leon wouldn’t have singled me out for murder in the first place.
Still… when I go out to the open sea, there might be a passing elf nearby. It seems a bit pointless, but at least I’ve gotten something out of it, so I’ll take my chances.
So, my gains for today are the cute and squishy water slime transformation cube and a contact list adder with no target to add.
…I’m doomed. Help.

A hall of giant tree trunks. Elite guards opened the doors and a turquoise-eyed man stepped through them. Rai stepped forward with a restrained but unyielding stride, then paused and bowed in reverence.
“Greetings, Monarch of Regia.”
Delphior smiled as she rose from her throne and walked slowly down the aisle.
“I did not expect the Tower Lord himself to come. If I had known, I would have prepared a banquet.”
Stepping closer to Rai, Delphior placed her hand on Rai’s shoulder. It was a sign of acknowledgment, but Rai gently pushed her hand away and shook his head.
“As if you didn’t know.”
Delphior smiled at Rai’s words. The corners of her eyes curved beautifully, but there was something chilling about her smile.
“As expected, we don’t see eye to eye.”
Rai also spoke with a composed smile. “Then you know I’m not here to joke around.”
“Well, let’s hear it, shall we?”
‘I expected it, but your attitude is still annoying.’
With a small sigh, Rai looked into Delphior’s eyes and said, “Is Elkiore in the Alucina Empire?”
A straight question with no room for evasion. Delphior merely smiled in the face of Rai’s indomitable eyes and spirit. He showed no signs of being intimidated even standing before the reigning sovereign of the elven race.
‘He hasn’t changed, or rather, he has become even more kingly than before….’
“Well, I don’t think I can answer that question…What can I do to apologize?”
Delphior’s response was as nonchalant as he had expected.
“I wasn’t expecting an answer anyway.”
His eyes were cold in contrast to the relaxed upturned corners of his mouth.
Facing Delphior, who continued to smile, Rai added another remark. “I came to warn you.”
With that, Rai turned without hesitation and walked away, never looking back.
Delphior silently watched Rai’s retreating figure. Only after Rai had left the hall did Delphior shift his gaze.
Seated on the throne, Delphior sent a signal to summon Ventus. After a while, Ventus entered the hall and greeted her with a bow.
“Your Majesty, did you summon me?”
Ventus was dutiful and loyal.
‘Indeed, quite useful.’
Delphior looked down at Ventus as he bowed.
“Is the task I assigned you completed?”
Ventus looked a little confused by the question, then answered, “Yes. As you commanded… I awakened him from that place. By now… he must be feeling confused.”
“Good. You did well.”
“…But it won’t last long. To bear the weight of the Leviathan’s soul is too much for…
“It’s alright.”
“…What do you mean?”
Ventus hesitated, a rare occurrence. Delphior saw through his intentions.
“You might be wondering why we left it there, right?”
“…Yes. I apologize.”
Delphior smiled kindly and said, “Everything has a purpose. Don’t doubt that.”
