Chapter 22
Lady Engelmann sneered with excitement.
“Oh please! Don’t even mention it. The two of them are already stuck together like glue. It’s unbelievable!”
Rose eagerly chimed in, her eyes gleaming. Only Lady Achstein sat silently with a slightly flustered expression, while Lady Kellinger covered her mouth and Lady Engelmann smiled widely with a sly look.
Seeing that the situation was unfolding exactly as she intended, Rose let out a quiet sigh of relief.
“Well… her reputation wasn’t good even before. Why would this time be any different? No matter how tired she is from doing that sort of thing, spilling tea everywhere like some lowborn person. What’s there to be proud of about that?”
Seizing the moment, Lady Engelmann eagerly pressed on.
“But anyway, what if she really isn’t feeling well? Her complexion looked terrible. Honestly, wasn’t it strange when she dropped the teacup earlier? From what I saw, her hand looked like it was trembling.”
Lady Kellinger tilted her head thoughtfully. Lady Engelmann immediately jumped in.
“That’s right! It definitely looked strange earlier. It seemed stiff… For a moment I thought it might be Name symptoms.”
The most well-known symptom of a Name was trembling and paralysis in certain parts of the body. The symptoms usually began first in places like the hands, arms, or legs, and that was widely known as the typical first sign of a Name.
‘Yes! Finally it worked!’
As the conversation finally began to move in the direction she wanted, Rose let out a satisfied breath. Holding her teacup, she leaned back comfortably in her chair. Now that she had opened the path in the right direction, the rest could be left to the talkative Lady Engelmann.
Rose leisurely took a sip of tea and began carefully observing Lady Angela Achstein across from her. As expected, Angela’s expression had grown very dark. Trembling hands, paralysis in the arms and hands, and someone’s Name engraved somewhere on the body.
Seeing Angela’s expression, Rose knew she was already imagining exactly the scenario Rose wanted in her mind.
With a faint smile, Rose decided to throw out an even bigger piece of bait.
“Oh come on… you didn’t seriously imagine something so terrible, did you? My sister having a Name manifest on her body… That’s impossible!”
“It’s entirely possible! Name manifestations are random anyway, aren’t they? Lady Wittgen shouldn’t feel too reassured and should check whose name it is as soon as possible. What if you sit around carelessly and some huge variable appears later? What will you do then?”
“A huge variable? Come on, what could possibly happen?”
Rose deliberately dismissed Lady Engelmann’s words in a tone that suggested they were ridiculous.
Lady Engelmann’s enormous self-confidence and stubborn pride were already well-known. She hated it more than anything when anyone contradicted her. Because of that, she didn’t notice in the slightest that Rose’s smooth response was a deliberate trick to draw out exactly this reaction.
“Something unexpected might happen! If something really does, what will you do then? Why are you being so naive? Stop believing that nothing bad could ever happen to you!”
Lady Engelmann flushed red in the face and passionately argued, but Rose simply looked at her calmly with a bright smile, not changing her expression at all.
“Isn’t that a bit of a stretch just because her hand looked slightly stiff? Are you trying to say that His Highness the Crown Prince’s Name might appear on my sister? That sounds like something straight out of a novel. Lady Engelmann, you seem to worry too much.”
“Well, who knows! That’s exactly what a variable is. Only the person themselves knows the Name that appears on their body. Unless you strip them naked and check, how could anyone else know?”
Lady Engelmann swaggered as if she were some brilliant detective.
Rose watched with amusement as Lady Achstein’s face slowly filled with shock while listening to the conversation between herself and Lady Engelmann. It was as clear as day what would happen once this gathering ended. Lady Achstein would immediately run to tell her parents and Tilda.

Leopold, still looking half asleep, grumbled as he headed toward the Empress’s palace. He hated everything that disturbed his sweet morning sleep, but as the Crown Prince there were times when he had no choice but to get up.
For example, when the Emperor and Empress summoned him. Tilda knew this tendency of her son well, so she almost never called for him in the morning. That meant if she did, something must have happened.
