Chapter 95
Not anymore. The sun rising for tomorrow would no longer shine upon Elia.
Neither the wind nor the sunlight would ever return. The relentless gaze Cyrone cast upon her, his sometimes warm smile, and the days when just being with him was enough to feel happiness.
Elia clenched the necklace that emitted a gentle, radiant glow tightly in her hand. Then, quietly, she tucked it beneath her pillow.
“…Finally, I can end this.”
Habitually, Elia wiped away the tears flowing from her eyes. Those tears were burning, not out of regret for life, but from the joy of finally being able to put an end to everything with her own hands and love him without guilt.

“Ah…!”
Elia’s back arched sharply as she creamed. Just as Cyrone reached his climax deep inside her. The space between their bodies burned.
Cyrone withdrew unceremoniously. A slick liquid fell through and dripped onto the sheets beneath them.
As always, Cyrone tried to get up.
“…Hold me.”
At that moment, Elia grabbed Cyrone. Through her blurred vision, she wrapped her arms around his face. Her delicate touch traced slowly along his eyes, nose, and lips.
The eyes she loved so deeply, their ever-chilling gaze, and lips that burned painfully in her heart.
Sometimes, when she looked at him in the darkness like this, it was almost unbearable to accept that he was no longer Cyrone. But he was only Cyrone’s darkness. The shadow that lived by gnawing away at Cyrone’s light.
“I once loved even your shadow.”
When Elia said so, Cyrone’s expression stiffened oddly. Elia gently pulled his nape closer, hugging him deeply.
His cold body pressed against her chest. It was the very embrace she had once longed for, but now she felt nothing at all. Not even the beating of his heart could be heard. She was holding a shell without a soul.
“But now I know that shadow was never truly you.”
Elia withdrew the necklace from beneath her pillow. Starting from her fingertips, the strange sensation coursed through her entire body.
“I will return everything to its rightful place. Even the fake fate you forced upon me.”
With the hand holding the necklace, Elia tightly hugged Cyrone’s back.
“So now, I’m going to end this with my own hands.”
“What are you doing…!”
Sensing something strange, Cyrone abruptly pushed himself up, but Elia placed the necklace upon his chest. At that moment, the tiny relic radiated a light that tore through his skin and pierced his heart.
From that gap, dark crimson blood dripped down onto Elia’s body.
“I will put everything back as it should be. So he can understand how truly happy it is to be alive.”
Elia’s hands trembled violently, but she didn’t let go of the necklace.
The light bursting forth from the relic tightened its grip around Cyrone’s heart, stretching farther and burning stronger. Cyrone, groaning in pain from the oppressive force, glared fiercely at Elia. His blood-red eyes flared as if they were about to spill tears of blood.
Feeling her strength drain rapidly, Elia forcefully pushed Cyrone away as he collapsed over her. Sliding toward the edge of the bed, Cyrone desperately reached out and growled.
“…How dare you betray me? Humans are still so foolish, unable to come to their senses.”
Black blood gushed from the devil’s mouth. Despite the sacred light that paralyzed his entire body, he writhed in a violent spasm, stubbornly crawling forward. Eventually, Elia’s slender ankle was caught in his grasp, and she was dragged along the floor.
“Ah!”
Elia struggled fiercely, striking the devil’s spine again with the necklace. The devil emitted a horrific sound and collapsed onto the floor.
The golden glow imprisoning the devil flickered as if about to snap. Trapped within, the devil’s crimson eyes burned as it stared at Elia, as if ready to tear her apart.
‘Haa, haa.’
Elia panted heavily and crawled out the door and bolted toward the source of light. It felt like the devil’s grasp would seize her hair and ankle at any moment.
“No, not here! Not now!”
Her breath caught sharply, and the twisted pain in her ankle moaned. She staggered as if about to collapse, but gritted her teeth and pushed forward, even as her vision blurred.
Just as she faltered, the golden light wrapped tightly around her body and soared toward its target.
Feeling herself carried by the wind, Elia bit her lip hard. For the first time, her heart pounded fiercely. Her entire fate surged forward with fierce speed, racing toward the flame that would reduce all these moments to ash.
