Chapter 10
“Mm.”
Tears had already pooled in Asteria’s eyes. But Lucian did not stop. He thrust into her mouth harder, more urgently.
Then his climax arrived. He came, s***n gushing into her mouth with a shuddering groan.
“Ahh…”
Saliva glistened around Asteria’s lips. Having finished, Lucian withdrew from her mouth. He pulled out a handkerchief and gently wiped her lips.
Without thinking, Asteria swallowed what he had released. It tasted bitter and strange.
“I won’t take you. But neither can I stop myself from wanting you.”
At those words, her violet eyes wavered. Lucian lifted her back up and seated her on the sofa.
“Surely it’s all right if I merely desire you?”
Asteria could not answer readily. Honestly, she could barely make sense of what had just happened.
Lucian kissed her lips softly. The thought that these were the very lips that had just held and sucked his c**k made it all the more arousing.
“You are mine.”
His blue eyes blazed with possessiveness. He stroked his hand down her cheek.
The feeling of having defiled something so pure with his own desire only stoked his need to dominate.
“…Forever.”
His words dripped with fierce obsession.
In that moment, the wheel of fate interlocked and began to turn.

Not long after, a grand imperial wedding was held in the Orbien Empire. Lucian exchanged his matrimonial vows and received Rosalyn as Empress.
Yet even in the moment of his vow, the thought of wanting to see Asteria crossed his mind. He resented that the day’s ceremony kept him from visiting her.
“The marriage is now official. The groom may now kiss the bride.”
Lucian carelessly lifted Rosalyn’s veil and touched his lips to hers before pulling away. By anyone’s measure, it was a thoroughly perfunctory kiss.
But at the same time, cannons fired and the pipe organ struck up a festive melody. The guests cheered, and Rosalyn, arm in arm with Lucian, looked beautiful and happy.
Lucian was the only one who found this day celebrated by all to be tedious.

The sound of cannon fire reached all the way to the White Tower.
Asteria listened with a troubled heart. By now, Lucian must have completed his ceremony and welcomed his wife.
Since the day he had violated her mouth, he had not come to see her. But Asteria could not forget what had happened. It was something even her prophetic abilities could never have foretold.
“Now that His Majesty is married, surely nothing like that will happen again.”
She tried her best to forget that day, the possessiveness and dominance Lucian had shown her.
But it was not easy. It had been the most shocking event of her entire life.
“I’m sure it won’t.”
Clarisse placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. Having heard what happened that day, she had sensed that what was bound to come had finally arrived.
But Asteria did not know that every Saintess before her had lived as the Emperor’s mistress. Perhaps it was precisely that innocence and defenselessness which had further aroused his desires.
“Clarisse, do I have no right to refuse His Majesty?”
“…That’s right.”
Asteria had been raised for the sole purpose of becoming Lucian’s Saintess. She could hardly have the right to refuse him.
Above all, the Lumines Clan’s autonomy was recognized in exchange for offering a Saintess. In a sense, Asteria was a sacrificial lamb for her people.
“But now that Her Majesty the Empress is here, it should be all right.”
At least for the time being. That was what Clarisse wanted to believe.
Yet she felt uneasy because Asteria was far too pure, and far too beautiful.
“I hope so.”
Asteria gazed out the window into the distance. The quiet routine of her life had been shattered beyond repair ever since Lucian began visiting.
