With lingering regret in his eyes, he released the pink rabbit ear. He then took some of his cake and put it in Ruby’s mouth.
“Hmm.”
Then, as a sudden thought occurred to him, Ivan straightened his upper body and stretched out his hands forward. Ruby, who had naturally gotten closer, was startled but had no time to escape. Nonchalantly, he wrapped his arms around her waist and firmly grabbed her b******s.
“Kyaa!”
“Heh, the tail is there too.” A furry, round tail was hanging just above her b******s.
“Why didn’t I notice it during your estrus?”
Even though he already knew the answer, he continued to express disappointment with a somewhat dejected tone. Ruby, who had been silent until then, suddenly protested.
“T-This is harassment!”
“If you think about it that way, didn’t you harass me first?”
“!”
“Don’t use your heat as an excuse. You could have refused at any time.”
In response to his probing words, Ruby, momentarily flustered, gave an unexpectedly candid response.
“I don’t know of any female who can resist such a dominant male in front of her.”
“…Is that right?”
“W-Well, isn’t it your fault in the first place? You revealed yourself so casually in front of a rutting female during her estrus!”
“Still, you were the one who initiated, Ruby, weren’t you?”
Ruby, unable to respond, simply pouted. His words were entirely accurate, leaving her with no room for a retort.
With embarrassment and confusion, she involuntarily reverted back to her old habit – responding shamelessly when teased.
“Well, because you’re cute. Just look at you.”
“…Hmm?”
For a moment, her words made him doubt his own ears. Awkwardly, he considered whether he should indeed look at himself since she did make him seem genuinely cute.
If only she didn’t continue talking…
“In any case, that was absolutely no strings attached, so there’s really nothing to worry about with that incident.”
“Ha…”
Ivan was confused. Why did the mention of ‘no strings attached’ bother him so much? He subtly averted his silver eyes. Pouting slightly, he continued to shift her b******s back and forth when, suddenly, her tail was caught.
“Haang!”
“Oh, tails are sensitive too?”
Among fellow beastfolk who clearly understood each other’s circumstances, there was no need for such a question. This was indeed s****l harassment. In her frustration, Ruby shivered and shouted.
“It’s unfair! Why only me… Duke, take out your ears and tail too!”
Ruby, now flushed with anger, unexpectedly grabbed Ivan’s hair. He couldn’t help but recall their interactions during her rut. Holding the hair meant she was in a good mood.
With a mischievous grin, Ivan took one of Ruby’s rabbit ears into his mouth. Regardless of the damp saliva drenching the fur, he playfully nibbled on it before pulling out his own ears and tail.
Ruby’s body stiffened as she unintentionally grabbed his shiny black fur ear, being confronted with the stark reality of Ivan’s carnivorous nature. Even though he had always treated her well, the realization of him being a carnivore hit her anew. An overwhelming fear engulfed her.
“Ruby?”
Witnessing the drastic change in her expression, Ivan called out in a puzzled voice. Her hands were shaking, and she let go of his wolf ears in surprise.
“Why are you acting like this?”
Ivan was taken aback by her pale complexion. He quickly released the tail he had been holding playfully and cupped her face.
“Did I startle you?”
“N-no, it’s not that.”
“You shouldn’t assume that all carnivores are the same.”
“It’s not that… I mean…”
Of course, she knew in her head. He was her ally, a compassionate carnivorous beastfolk. However, she couldn’t control her body’s reactions. Thoughts of the fiery village and the golden lions surfaced in her mind.
Reading her expression keenly, Ivan whispered in a discomforting voice.
“Surely, you’re not comparing me to those foolish beasts from the lion tribe, are you?”
