Chapter 19
As the High Priest, Ruasil was impeccably fair. While he bestowed the grace of his seed during the Blessing Ritual, he did not covet the bodies of God’s children. No one held any dissatisfaction with Ruasil’s stance. After all, if he couldn’t be monopolized, it was better that no one had him.
In the end, Ruasil loosened his robe and grasped his twitching c**k. He closed his eyes, slowly stroking the shaft. A faint, unidentifiable sweet scent teased the edge of his nostrils.
“Haah, ngh…”
As his grip tightened, the image of a woman flickered in his darkening vision. The moment he recalled the glimpse of pale skin through a torn dress, his seed surged forth uncontrollably.
“Tch.”
A child of God must only feel physical arousal for another child of God. It was one of the central tenets of the Erios faith. And he believed the God’s teachings without a doubt. Regardless of his inherently cunning nature, he was devout.
That’s why no one ever realized that his election as High Priest had been part of his long-standing plan. His saintly face seemed a world away from such a wicked scheme.
He hid his half-subsided member within his ceremonial robes and exited the prayer chamber with a face that betrayed not a single thread of desire. His destination was the office of the Elders. The Elders welcomed the devout High Priest warmly.
“Your Eminence, we heard you just finished the ritual. To what do we owe the pleasure? You must not be tired.”
“Perhaps it is because I have received the god’s grace, but I feel only lightness.”
“Ohh, as expected, Lord Ruasil, you are truly exceptional.”
Ruasil gave a gentle smile and took the seat of honor. The Elders crowded around him eagerly. Ruasil’s fine eyes curved softly.
“Actually, I’ve come to seek your wisdom, Elders.”
“Ask us anything.”
“Lately, the Sun God Erios appears in my dreams every night. He says the corrupt energy of Roang’s god, Kinamun, is spreading to Valencha, and we must stop it.”
“Oh my, this is truly a serious matter.”
“So, a cleansing of the heathens is required?”
“That is…”
Ruasil started to speak, then stopped, furrowing his brow. A sigh, heavy with sanctity, cut through the silent chamber. The elders pricked up their ears, awaiting the High Priest’s next words.
“It seems… it must be because of the Princess of Roang imprisoned in Drémoor Castle.”
“Ah… That would make sense. What a troubling matter.”
“We should inform His Majesty the Emperor of Erios’s revelation at once.”
The High Priest watched the elders raise their voices in concern, then calmly clicked his crimson tongue.
“First, it would be best if I go personally to assess the princess’s condition. The influence of the heathen god is strong; it seems unlikely any other priest would stand a chance.”
The elders nodded in agreement, as if his words were perfectly reasonable. Not a single one suspected any ulterior motive hidden within Ruasil’s statement.
A sinister smile spread across Ruasil’s impeccably composed face.

“Ghk, ghk!”
When I opened my eyes, I felt something foreign wrapped around my tongue. No matter how wide I opened my mouth, I couldn’t form words, let alone raise my voice. I tried to lift my arms to remove the thing in my mouth, but my arms were tied behind my back, immobile. All I did was wake up after a rare night when Kallist hadn’t visited, and this is what I got.
‘Don’t tell me…’
I felt a sinister, snake-like gaze on me from across the room. Turning my head in that direction, I saw a man who could only be described as divine, standing bathed in sunlight. I stopped struggling and simply lost my senses.
Ruasil Arno.
He was in my bedroom. He had tied me up on a whim, yet his face was the picture of freshness.
The High Priest of Valencha had a gaze dripping with lust, yet he was clad in pristine white ceremonial robes that covered him neatly from his Adam’s apple to his ankles. The white robe and gloves embroidered with golden thread added an air of noble dignity, and his perfectly symmetrical features and smooth facial structure radiated a holiness closer to a god than a man.
Seen up close, he was, in a word, a man more god-like than a god himself.
“You’re awake, Princess.”
His watery blue eyes curved languidly. His golden eyelashes rested elegantly. The priest’s voice was unnecessarily affectionate and refined.
He slowly approached, continuing in a soft tone.
“Please forgive my rudeness. I sensed the power of the evil god Kinamun upon you, and I had no choice.”
Kinamun is the God of the Moon, the most widely worshipped deity in the Kingdom of Roang. And the Moon God is a symbol of lust. It was rumored that on nights of the full moon, orgiastic feasts were held all over Roang; the faith of Kinamun was considered depraved and hedonistic.
Ruasil sat on the edge of my bed. Just his proximity made goosebumps break out all over my body. He looked down at me silently as he removed the glove from his right hand. The back of his hand softly brushed my cheek.
“But do not worry. For I, Ruasil, have come myself. I will swiftly purify you and make you a child of Erios.”
“Mmph, mmph. Ghlk.”
