Everything she said was painfully true. In fact, even deciding to travel together like this had been due to her own selfishness.

Eshar quietly looked at Lynette and let out a low sigh.

“If we run into enemies, it would definitely be safer to have that man with us than to let Euphen fight alone. Of course, that’s under the condition that he actually helps.”

Her gaze shifted to Sillian.
He kept his mouth shut without giving any reply.

“But in a situation where we don’t even know who we can trust, I also think it’s more dangerous to stay with a man whose identity we know nothing about.”

“Sillian… isn’t a dangerous person.”

Eshar still seemed unable to let go of her suspicions toward him.
At Lynette’s attempt to explain, the woman slightly frowned.

“Sillian, who exactly are you?”

“…”

“Not only can we not confirm who you are, but after you left, an explicit attack took place. Against me as well. Very few people know that I’m the Imperial Prince Euphen’s Guide, and you are among them.”

“Sillian really didn’t do anything.”

Lynette raised her voice slightly to defend him, but Eshar continued interrogating as though she hadn’t heard a word.

“And we happened to meet on the road far too ‘coincidentally’. There are at least five routes leading out of the Imperial Castle. Even if you happened to take the same route, we still should have passed three or four split roads before meeting. So are we really supposed to believe that all of this happened without any intent at all?”

“Eshar! I was the one who suggested we travel together.”

“If it were Lynette, of course you wouldn’t just ignore Euphen and walk away. Anyone would know that.”

“It really was a coincidence. If you’re going to suspect anyone because of that, shouldn’t I be the more suspicious one?”

Lynette turned the accusation toward herself, but Eshar still did not let go of her doubts about Sillian.

Sillian remained silent. As if he had no intention of explaining anything. As if he were waiting for them to misunderstand so he would have a reason to leave.

“I was the one who recognized Euphen while passing by. If it weren’t for me, we wouldn’t have met like this at all.”

Her voice had risen without her realizing.
People at nearby tables glanced in her direction.

Lynette bit her lip and let out a rough sigh.

“I’m the one who knows Eshar is Euphen’s Guide, and I was the one who met him by coincidence.”

“Lynette wouldn’t have been able to pull something like this…”

Eshar glanced at the man sitting beside her.

“She loves Euphen far too much.”

Those words made her feel slightly embarrassed.

“Of course, one might think that you wanted to kill me and become his ‘Guide’ again instead.”

This time, the woman’s gaze turned toward Sillian.

“In a situation like that, that man would never stand by and watch. And I don’t think Lynette would ever plan anything like that.”

He let out a short, rough breath, then brushed back his long hair.

“So you’re saying my existence is bothersome.”

“Yes, that’s right. I’ve found you suspicious from the beginning.”

Eshar and Sillian stared straight at each other. It seemed like neither intended to back down.

Lynette bit down hard on her lip.

She should have expected something like this. After all, Eshar had been suspicious of this man’s presence since they were still in the Imperial Castle.

‘But that doesn’t mean he’d tell us everything.’

There wasn’t a single way she could think of to get through this situation. She couldn’t even create a believable excuse to gloss over it.

But she couldn’t make up a lie either.
As long as they continued traveling together, something so trivial would be exposed sooner or later.

Lynette let out a long sigh.

‘Is this as far as we go?’

If Eshar decided they couldn’t stay together anymore, there was nothing they could do. Of course, they could ignore her and continue traveling anyway, but maintaining a relationship broken that far would surely be unbearable.

Feeling a gaze on her, she turned her head and met Sillian’s eyes.

Lynette quietly stared at him.
It felt like he was asking her for an answer. What should they do?

“What do you plan to do?”

As if she had read Lynette’s thoughts, Eshar spoke, making Lynette flinch and clench her fists tightly.

“So it’s either I reveal everything and we all continue traveling together, or we part ways here. Is that what you’re saying?”

“You know everything about Euphen and I, but we know nothing about you. It’s simply unfair.”

If Sillian asked Lynette for her opinion again, she wasn’t sure she could push any further. After all, choosing to travel together in the first place had already been a huge decision.

‘It’s fine. I’ve seen for myself that Euphen is safe.’

Lynette gave a bitter smile.

Knowing he’s alive, and that he is clearly moving with the intention to survive, meant she could worry less even if they parted now.
Euphen also seemed to realize things wouldn’t end well.

He looked at her with a faintly bitter expression.

How is Lynette supposed to part with him this time?

As she quietly let out a soft sigh, Sillian finally opened his mouth.

“I am a prince of the Calles Kingdom.”

Lynette’s eyes widened as she turned toward him.
Unexpectedly, he had spoken the truth.
