Alright, I’ll admit it: I have zero creativity. I was just recycling questions Hawk had used, but they seemed effective enough. I doubted Public Security would bother to train their agents to answer these kinds of inane questions.
“What is this, some kind of meme? Or a quiz?”

I shot him a cold look, and he seemed to panic, waving his hands.

“Overseas? Where?”
“The US.”
“Where in the US?”
“L.A.”
“Which part of L.A.?”
“…What, you want my exact address?”
I narrowed my eyes, studying him skeptically. Sure, if he’d lived abroad for a long time, he might not know the ‘head to toe’ meme. But was he really telling the truth?
“I lived in Canada, New Zealand, and Japan, too. How much more do I have to say for you to believe I’m a possessor?”

Listing off country names made his story sound a bit more convincing, though honestly, anyone with basic prep could memorize that.
Asking about the Korean flag now felt pointless—he’d just blame it on living overseas and dodge the question.
I was wracking my brain for some kind of killer question when suddenly, there was a loud pounding at the door.
“Sir Crudi! Sir Crudi!”
Several voices overlapped, meaning it wasn’t just one person. I glanced at the door and then shot a glare back at Crudi, who stared at me wide-eyed.
“Wh-who could that be?”
“How should I know? You didn’t call them?”
He shook his head furiously, looking genuinely upset.
“Wasn’t me! Why would I call anyone right now?”
“This could all be a trap, you know.”
“How would I know when you were coming? And can’t you see I’m literally jerking off right now?”
