Chapter 132
“Is there someone you’re considering?”
I kept my mouth shut like a clam, dodging his questioning. Sure, I’d had a candidate in mind for a while, but that wasn’t something I wanted to discuss with anyone—least of all, with this man.
Ren watched my reaction closely, then suddenly tossed out another question.
“Is that the man?”
“Who?”
“The one you’ve been exchanging coded letters with.”
“…Did Dahlia tell you about that too?”
I could strangle that girl.
It’s not like I expected much from her, but I didn’t think she’d go around blabbing about everything, either. This could cause me all sorts of trouble if people started connecting the dots with Hongik Ingan. Frowning at the thought, I looked back at him.
Crunch. There was a sharp sound of something hard breaking. I looked again and realized it was just him biting down on a piece of candy. He chewed it so many times that, if it had been any bigger, it would’ve been reduced to dust by now.
Watching him, uncharacteristically expressionless and just gnawing on that candy, I started to feel awkward. Trying to break the silence, I cleared my throat and asked,
“Ahem. So, do you like candy?”
“No.”
Still expressionless. What is with this guy?
“Then why…?”
Yeah, he never seemed like someone with a sweet tooth. So why eat candy at all?
His answer took me completely by surprise.
“They say it helps with quitting smoking.”
“…You’re quitting?”
As he finished tying the handkerchief around my ankle, he pulled the corners tight with both hands, almost as if tying it off was a statement.
“Ah!”
Whether he did it on purpose or not, he yanked so hard I cried out in surprise. But he just answered coolly, without even apologizing.
“Apparently it’s bad for your health. And it smells bad, too.”
“Says who?”
“The woman I want to marry.”
“…”
I stared at him, dumbfounded. Before I could say anything, a child ran up to us, looking back and forth between Ren and me, and started firing off questions like a machine gun.
“Teacher, are you hurt? What are you eating, Brother? Is it candy? Are you not sharing?”
Maybe it was just my imagination, but it felt like the kid was more interested in the candy than my injury. Still, at least someone noticed I was hurt.
While I was trying to figure out how I felt about that, Ren smiled and put a finger to his lips.
“Shh, you’re being a little too loud.”
By chance, my eyes fell on his finger—and I noticed a familiar mole. Hawk had a mole in that same spot. Is it common to have a mole on your finger like that?
My foggy brain started connecting the dots, dragging out a theory so wild I shook my head to get rid of it.
No way. Just a coincidence.
Pushing aside those useless thoughts, I looked down at my bandaged ankle again.
The blue silk was soft and oddly comforting. It was completely unnecessary.

Chapter 8 End. The Truth about Bachelor Kimchi
Under the white canopy of the bed, a man and woman lay tangled together, both naked.
The intricately carved walnut bedposts shook now and then as a stray foot kicked out, and the thick horsehair mattress, covered in brocade, was rumpled by the woman’s clutching hands as she moaned.
“Aah!”
Every time the woman’s cries grew louder, the man flicked his tongue harder, playing with her c**t as if to put on a show. Squelching, sucking sounds filled the room, his fingers adding to the torment, delving deeper and deeper.
The woman, thoroughly tormented below, was now writhing helplessly.
“Ha-ang!”
Her hips bucked, toes curling and then stretching out straight as the pleasure hit. Gasping, she grabbed the man by the hair, pressing his face mercilessly against her lower body.
He didn’t resist, drinking her in as if she were holy water. Her wailing reached another peak, and then, thoroughly spent, she collapsed back onto the pillow.
The man, watching her pant with her face half-buried in the soft linen, gave a small, satisfied smile.
“Maybe it’s been too long… you’re even wetter than usual, aren’t you, babe?”
