“Have the lessons gone on too long? I’ll try to adjust next time… Today, I’ll just finish the part I was explaining.”
“Yes. But… teacher?”
Claude lowered his head.
For some reason, Felice’s face flushed. It even seemed like her breathing was uneven.
“Are you alright? Do you have a fever…?”
Claude reached out and gently placed the back of his hand on her forehead. At that moment, Felice’s tension transferred through his hand.
“Ah…”
A short sigh escaped her lips.
Could it be that a reputedly skilled and seductive relationship coach would freeze up so easily at a simple touch on the forehead?
Claude’s eyes narrowed.
Regardless, Felice froze in place, her lips moving slightly but unable to form a word.
“Ah, ah… uh, well, it’s just that… uh.”
In Claude’s mind, a clear conclusion formed.
Perhaps this woman wasn’t the competent relationship coach she claimed to be.
“Hmm… looks like you might have a fever after all.”
Claude boldly moved his hand from her forehead down to her cheek. His gentle touch only made Felice’s face flush deeper.
“No, I’m fine.”
Felice pulled her face away from Claude’s hand and shook her head.
She couldn’t afford to show weakness in front of her student… but maybe she’d been too careless, having believed Claude’s claim of no romantic experience.
Claude’s sudden touch had left Felice utterly flustered.
“That’s a relief to hear.”
Claude smiled gently and answered warmly before returning his gaze to the notebook.
Unconsciously, Felice stared blankly at him, her hands clenched tightly beneath the desk.
“Since today was our first lesson, shall we call it a day here?”
She knew she couldn’t get drawn in any further.
Felice made up her mind.
But Claude, who had seemed bored just moments ago, shook his head.
“No. Let’s finish the lesson you were planning to complete today.”
Recalling her principle that a teacher must match a student’s enthusiasm, Felice reluctantly picked up a fresh quill and drew a line across the notebook.
At that moment, Claude’s fingers brushed against the back of Felice’s hand.
“By the way, teacher, about this part…”
“Ah… yes…”
Trying not to focus on the touch, Felice stared intently at the section Claude indicated.
“It says here that women pay a lot of attention to the atmosphere when spending time together.”
“Yes…”
“You probably wrote that thinking about the bedroom, right?”
“Ah… yes, that’s right. Women tend to be nervous on the first night, so creating a relaxing mood helps.”
“How do you suggest easing that tension?”
The sharp question made Felice flinch.
“Ah, well…”
“Like holding hands before starting… what do you think about that?”
With Claude’s question, his fingers near the back of her hand became even more noticeable.
“That’s a good approach. Holding hands is better than anything else…”
“Like this?”
Claude took Felice’s hand in his.
“You’ve probably held many men’s hands before, so you must know the best way to hold hands, right?”
Felice almost gasped but swallowed hard and nodded slowly.
“Ah, of course.”
Suddenly, a conversation with one of the noblewomen she had tutored came to mind—the woman had told her that when her husband slid his fingers between hers during their courtship, her heart had fluttered wildly.
That story now felt like perfect material for this lesson.
“To create a tender atmosphere, it’s best to slip your fingers between theirs.”
Just as she said it, Felice’s heart was pounding fiercely.
It felt as if her heart might leap out from under her palm at any moment.
“Like this, right?”
Claude’s thick, long fingers fully covered the back of Felice’s hand.
“You really are a skilled teacher, even knowing this way to hold hands.”
Yet unlike Felice, Claude seemed completely unfazed.
“Yes… then, for the next lesson…”
“By the way, teacher.”
Still holding her hand, Claude called to Felice.
“After holding hands like this, what should we do next?”
