Chapter 69
Felice swallowed hard. There was no doubt she was completely consumed by desire. The instant his blue eyes glanced over her, heat shot through her whole body in response.
Even as Claude’s mouth closed over her b****t, with her wrists pinned above her head, she told herself she should say no—that this lesson needed to end here. But her mind was already awash in red.
“…Haah.”
The only sound she managed was a shaky gasp.
All she could think about, all her mind could conjure in that flushed, dizzy state, was the sensation of his lips pressing against her.
If her wrists weren’t restrained, she would have run her fingers through his golden hair as it moved across her chest, teasing and tormenting her. She was struck by a shameful longing just watching the way his blond hair moved, wanting so badly to reach for him.
Felice let out a hot sigh, brow furrowing as Claude took a generous mouthful of her b****t, moving gently.
His sky-blue eyes flickered up at her, as if gauging her every reaction—beautiful, clear, and impossibly bright, like a cloudless sky. At that moment, the scarlet haze filling Felice’s mind faded, swept away by the blue pouring out of his eyes.
Why did his eyes have to hold the sky itself—something so distant, so out of reach, so completely forbidden?
Felice drew a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“I didn’t bite my lip, so…the lesson’s over.”

The next morning, Felice stared at her dress, the left shoulder nearly torn and about to fall off. Next to it was another dress with white stains that, thankfully, had disappeared after washing.
Still, she couldn’t bring herself to wear it; if she ran into Claude, the memories would come rushing back. She put it away in the wardrobe for now.
“Ugh… Every lesson, my clothes end up like this…”
Felice bit her lip in frustration. At least today was the day she’d visit Rose’s boutique for a final fitting, so she’d be able to pick up a new dress.
She was just getting up from the breakfast table when it happened.
“Good morning, Miss Felice. I wanted to ask—do you have any plans for this afternoon?”
Butler Ben approached Felice and asked.
“Hm, I don’t have anything planned this afternoon.”
“That’s perfect. Mr. Thomas finished up the west garden yesterday, so we’re having a celebratory dinner outside. Would you care to join us?”
“Of course. Thank you for inviting me.”
“Not at all. Very good, then.”
As Ben turned to leave with a gentle smile, Felice hesitated, then called out to him again.
“Um… Mr. Ben?”
“Yes, Miss Felice?” Ben responded with another soft smile.
“Will Mr. Claude be there as well? I have something to give him.”
“I believe he will attend, yes.”
“Thank you.”
Ben’s eyes softened even more, and Felice managed a sheepish smile as she nodded.
Back in her room, she stared at the handkerchief lying on her side table—the one she still hadn’t returned to Claude.
“I’ll need to buy a ribbon for this at the boutique.”
Felice slipped the handkerchief into her bag.
She sat down for a moment and picked up her pen, wanting to write a letter to mail on her way out.
Lately, work had kept her so busy she’d neglected her art lessons with her mentor. She wrote her apologies, promising she’d be able to return to class soon now that things were finally looking up.
She sealed the letter and tucked it into her bag before heading out.
“Miss Felice! Hello!”
Annie’s voice rang out nearby. Turning her head, Felice saw the child beaming at her, this time with a straw hat that actually fit. Next to Annie, Mr. Thomas also noticed Felice and smiled brightly, nodding in greeting.
Felice gripped her bag with both hands and returned the gesture politely, waving to Annie at the end.
