Chapter 18
Eki hesitated, then reactivated the slime’s restraints. Thankfully, with just a little injection of mana, the massive slime went still as if dead.
With the slime docile, she also released the shield. The thick, milky-white fluid splattered across her field of vision vanished. Her face flushed even redder as she raised a hand to cover her eyes.
Her head was a chaotic swirl of thoughts, but truly, one question dominated her mind.
‘Why would Master insert implants into his d**k?’
Cassius. The archmage who’d spent centuries in seclusion in the Magic Tower. Her own teacher.
She had just learned the secrets of his private s*x life.
❖ ❖ ❖
And of course, this was all Eki’s misunderstanding.
She realized this when the two of them returned to the laboratory in a stormy silence, like a blizzard raging between them.
Eki hesitated, then apologized to her master.
“M-Master. I’m sorry I didn’t rescue you sooner back there.”
“……”
“I don’t know if this will comfort you, but I’ll keep your secret. I can even put it in writing if you’d like—”
“Secret?”
Cassius had summoned clothes from his own room and changed. Whether it was because of everything that had happened today and yesterday, he now wore a stark black sleeveless turtleneck shirt and black cotton pants beneath the robe he usually draped over himself loosely.
He checked and rechecked the belt securing his waist tightly, fuming all the while.
“What exactly do you think you’ve learned about me?”
Thousand Dog Tower, nestled deep in the mountains. Its only disciple. Whether he cared for her or not, he had spent years living and working side by side with her, only to have her witness him being restrained by a slime, getting hard, and e*********g. How humiliating, how mortifying must that have been?
Eki was certainly someone who couldn’t resist beautiful faces and bodies, but she wasn’t so twisted as to gleefully be a voyeur to the kinks—like implanting nodules—of someone close to her.
She meekly clasped her hands together and lowered her gaze. It was the submissive posture she always took when being scolded.
“Go on. Tell me. What do you think you found out?”
“D-Do I… really have to say it out loud…?”
But Cassius was acting strange. After all his strict orders for her to keep her distance, he suddenly strode right up to her and gripped her shoulders tightly. Eki blinked rapidly.
“M-Master?”
“I want to hear it from your own mouth.”
“Wh-Why are you acting like this?”
“I said, tell me. What did you figure out?”
What was this? Did he eat something bad?
Eki’s golden eyes trembled as she swallowed nervously. In the end, she clenched her fists tight and blurted out,
“Th-The implants you inserted there!”
“…What?”
“That’s what you’re talking about, right? Did you really need to confirm it yourself?!”
“Wait… what?”
Eki shook off his stunned hands, turning around in a fluster as she covered her burning cheeks.
“D-Don’t be too embarrassed. I’ve heard some men care about things like that. Of course, it is a little awkward that a mere disciple like me found out about your… lower-body augmentation surgery…”
“Wait, Eki— What are you talking about?”
“The implants. Those shocking… Oh, I misspoke. Anyway, those lumpy, scale-like—”
“Exactly. Those are clearly scales. What do you mean, implants?!”
“Scale-like implants, then.”
“I’m telling you they’re not implants!”
“Huh? Then how could something like that be on a human body?”
“Well, I’m not exactly human…!”
Something about this conversation was spiraling out of control.
Eki glanced back at Cassius’s face. He was sweating profusely, pushing back his snow-white hair. His face was just as red as hers. When their eyes met, he flinched and looked away sharply, veins bulging along his tightly clenched jaw in humiliation.
“I’m not… a normal person.”
Huh?
“Th-Then what are you?”
Eki slowly stepped back, looking at him like a younger brother going through a late bout of puberty. He sighed deeply, covering his flushed, rosy face with one hand.
“…I’m a dragon.”
For seemingly the nth time these past few days, Eki’s jaw dropped once again.
