Chapter 43
“You broke the magic circle because of that. I’ll have to start over from the beginning.”
“What? Really? Wait, so it really was my fault.”
“……”
Cassius clenched his teeth and tried to suppress his body’s reaction. He tried his best to ignore Eki, who kept glancing downward again and again.
“If you understand, then just stay still.”
“…Yes.”
Cassius shut his eyes tight and forced his breathing to steady.
But the cramped space between them was heavy with heat, and his lewd c**k kept twitching on its own. Eki, desperate to look anywhere but at him, kept her mouth shut, yet after a moment her small voice trembled through the darkness.
“Um, M-Master. I think it’s getting… bigger.”
“For the love of— Just stop talking!”
“I can’t! You know it’s because of the potion’s effect!”
She whimpered, trying to move back as best she could. Whenever Eki parted her knees slightly and shifted sideways, the bulge at the front of Cassius’s pants twisted with her movement.
Cassius inhaled sharply and bent forward, and when Eki froze at the sudden motion, he covered his eyes with one hand.
“……”
“……”
A cruel silence fell between them until finally Eki went quiet.
With the room still, Cassius could feel her warmth, her breathing, and even the weight of her gaze on his skin. Cassius struggled desperately to calm his manhood, forcing his mind toward every unpleasant memory he could recall. One after another, old scenes flickered by, most of them involving her.
The times Eki had made the same mistake again and again when she first came to the tower. The time she splashed water on one of his cherished books. The way her room had been plastered with portraits of handsome men and beautiful women…
‘What a shallow little thing, always chasing faces.’
He remembered her saying she wouldn’t mind anyone as long as they were attractive enough to ease her desires.
Was she really serious about finding some ‘beautiful stranger’ to deal with it? She had claimed it would only be to ‘appreciate’ them, but from what he’d seen of her reactions to the so-called ‘luck potion’, he knew just how sly she could be.
‘She wouldn’t stop at just looking.’
It wasn’t that he thought Eki would behave indecently. Falling in love and sharing affection with someone was natural. Given how much she valued appearance, it was only logical she’d be drawn to a beautiful face.
Even so, the moment he remembered her saying she’d go outside to meet someone, his mind went cold, as if doused in water.
‘It’s none of my concern.’
That should have been true. Whatever she did, whoever she met, it was her private life. He was only her teacher. It had nothing to do with him.
And yet, just imagining her smiling at someone else made something twist inside him.
Cassius clicked his tongue, his finely carved features tightening in frustration. Eki looked up nervously.
“Master, are you… very uncomfortable?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“How can I not? It’s my fault.”
Damn it. Cassius finally lost his composure.
“Will you stop saying that everything’s your fault? Are you feeling guilty because I got hard?”
“Uh, well… yes.”
“……”
That was probably the truth too. Whether she was kind or just impossibly naïve, he couldn’t tell anymore.
He felt the heat he’d fought to suppress rising again. It was humiliating enough to have it acknowledged aloud, yet seeing her looking so sorry instead of disgusted made his chest tighten strangely. Maybe his heart was racing from embarrassment and shame. Or maybe it was the heat making him dizzy.
Cassius turned his head away, determined to ignore her. But Eki spoke again.
“Um… if we stay like this, it’ll take a long time to get out, right?”
“I told you. I have to re-examine the magic circle.”
“Then maybe… I could help?”
“…What?”
Cassius’s eyes snapped toward her.
She must have meant helping with the magic analysis. She had to.
But Eki, face pink and voice small, fumbled for words.
“I mean… I could, um… help with this.”
His disciple’s trembling finger pointed downward.
For the first time in his life, Cassius understood what it meant for the world to stop.
