❖ ❖ ❖

Alright then, how was she supposed to confess this wretched truth to her friends?

“Haa…”

She absolutely couldn’t.

Eki once again wordlessly downed her beer. Seeing her mood, Milla, sensing something was off, asked,

“This time it must’ve been pretty serious, huh? You’re not going back to the TDT?”

“I don’t know.”

“But didn’t Cursius once tell you to get out in a fit of anger before, too?”

Eki nodded. That time, she had been kicked out for flicking a droplet of water that was barely a centimeter wide onto the cover of one of Cassius’s treasured tomes.

‘Petty bastard.’

“Yeah. He acted totally petty.”

“Exactly, exactly.”

The very words she had only been thinking, her two friends spoke aloud, making her feel a little lighter.

Sniffling, Eki took another swig. As the warmth spread through her belly and her friends scratched at the itch of her resentment by insulting Cassius, she felt a sudden urge to confide her troubles in earnest.

Of course, she could never admit she had accidentally grabbed her master’s c**k. But maybe, if she explained it vaguely, they’d at least understand her sorrow.

“Hey, listen.”

As Eki finally opened her mouth, the two leaned in with bright eyes. She carefully continued,

“As you know, the Association placed a massive order with our tower.”

“Yeah, true. People complain about Cursius all the time, but when it comes to magic skill, there’s no one who matches him.”

“So this time too, we were working overtime like it was nothing. But maybe Master was tired, because he made a magical mistake.”

“Whoa, really? Isn’t that rare?”

“So because of that, well… one thing led to another, and I made a mistake with Master, too.”

Milla and Giyote tilted their heads, listening.

“But the mistake was… kinda embarrassing.”

“What did you do?”

“I can’t say. It’s too embarrassing.”

“Don’t tell me you pulled off Cursius’s wig?”

“What? Hey, what are you saying? It’s not a wig! My master’s hair is one-hundred percent real!”

“Too bad. I was betting it was fake.”

“Giyote, does that perfect silver hair look like a wig to you?”

“Do you want to slander your master, or defend him?”

“Anyway, don’t insult his face card. That part is real.”

Milla sighed, waving her hand in concession, while Giyote muttered ‘Beauty Cult Supremo’ under his breath. Ignoring him, Eki pressed on.

“So anyway, since this is something that’s never happened before, I was trying to figure out how to deal with it.”

“Hm…”

“Anyone got a good idea?”

“First tell us what the embarrassing mistake was.”

Giyote grumbled as he drained the rest of his glass.

“I already said I can’t.”

“Then the advice we can give is limited. Just beg like last time and go back.”

“Ah, but… Yeah, okay, it was my fault… But actually, it was because I was trying to help him that it happened.”

“Can you explain it properly? Are you saying it was his fault, or you really did mess up?”

“So, I mean…”

Ah, damn. This isn’t going to work.

Eki let out a deep sigh, then beckoned to the drowsily sipping Milla and the grumbling Giyote. They leaned closer with questioning looks.

“…M-Master almost fell, so I tried to catch him, but ended up groping him.”

“Oh my gosh!”

“Eki!”

Both of them jerked back, jaws dropped. Giyote hurriedly dug into his pocket for his communicator.

“So all that ‘beautiful face, beautiful face,’ and you finally went and committed a crime. If you get thrown in jail, I’ll visit you every time. Don’t hate me.”

“Giyote!”

“Where’d you touch him? Chest? Waist?”

“Milla, is that what matters right now?”

This wasn’t working. Sure, thanks to her friends her gloom had lifted a little, but coming all the way to the capital and paying for the drinks hardly felt worth it.

“Ha… forget it. My fault for dragging you two out when you’re busy.”

“Come on. Let’s actually think seriously now.”

Milla smiled faintly and rested her chin on her hand. Giyote mimicked her, putting on a thinking face.

“But seriously, this is important. Did you touch the top or the bottom?”

“…The bottom.”

“Whoo. That’s an extra sentence.”

“Giyote.”

“Just kidding.”

From the start, it had been an accident. Nothing but an incident.

‘But of all people, it had to be my master…’

Eki irritably tousled her short hair.
