Chapter 145
Lucas was at a loss for words at her unexpected remark. He had naturally assumed they would go on a romantic trip alone and now looked at her with a confused expression.
“My parents?”
“Yes, we haven’t seen them often, so I thought we could visit them this time.”
Unlike them, who stayed in their mansion in the capital, Lucas’s parents currently reside a bit further away from the Bavenberg territory. Although it wasn’t part of Bavenberg, it was a private property of the ducal family, located near a small village.
It was a beautiful place where one could see both the river and the sea at the same time, as it was located downstream of a river. The mansion was built on a cliff overlooking the picturesque scenery.
The former Duke and Duchess lived there, and their beautiful mansion and the scenic view made it famous among the nobility. As it was private property and the residence of the former Duke and Duchess, nobles couldn’t visit freely. Families that did receive an invitation often boasted about it.

“We first met your parents after having Rosalie. So, I want to visit them separately and greet them this time.”
“I didn’t know you were thinking about that.”
“I’ve been thinking about it all along. Raising Rosalie every day has been so happy that I kept postponing it.”
At Leila’s reply, Lucas hugged her tighter and whispered affectionately.
“I love our daughter very much too, but I don’t like that only Rose is included in your happiness.”
“Of course, you are included too. Is that something you have to ask?”
Leila answered, rubbing her cheek against his shoulder. Sometimes he acted like a child, and despite his large build, he seemed adorably cute at those times.
“So, shall we go?”
Lucas responded to her urging question with a sigh in his voice.
“You don’t need to ask. I’ll do anything you want.”
Leila closed her eyes comfortably at the answer from her dependable husband. She was still tired from their recent intimate activities.
“Just a moment, I’ll sleep a bit more…”
Lucas gently patted her back and said quietly at her sleepy voice.
“You can keep sleeping. I’ll take care of everything.”
Reassured by his words, Leila soon fell asleep.

“Rose! Come here!”
“Your Majesty!”
“What is this ‘Your Majesty,’ Rose? If you call me so formally, this Grandpa’s heart will ache.”
“Okay, Grandpa!”
“That’s right, that’s how you should call me!”
With Lucas not around to interfere, the Emperor constantly tried to carry Rosalie. He did so even when the children were playing together and would suddenly call her during meals. The Emperor would sit her on his lap and feed her himself or carry her around even while moving.
“Haha, with Lucas gone, life is truly enjoyable!”
But the Emperor’s indulgence didn’t last long. There were others besides Lucas who would interfere.
“Father, the time my niece will spend in the palace is shorter than expected. Are you going to selfishly keep Rose to yourself?”
“You impudent rascal!”
The Crown Prince, full of love for his niece, also wanted to carry Rosalie around. Although he adored his own children, Rosalie was different from the prince in every way. She was a girl and her appearance and aura were far more beautiful and mysterious than Lucas’s when he was young.
Especially her eyes, which resembled her aunt’s, were more dazzling than any jewel.
“Rose!”
At that moment, the Crown Prince’s son appeared behind him and called Rosalie.
“Brother!”
As soon as Rosalie saw the Crown Prince’s son, she wriggled, wanting to get down.
“I have something fun to show you, come here.”
“Okay! Just a moment!”
The Crown Prince, looking puzzled at his son’s sudden appearance, then smiled slightly as he saw him trying to take Rosalie away.
