Upon opening and confirming the edict, Benjamin let out a deep sigh. His hands trembled as he began to read out the contents of the edict.

“Why is His Majesty the Emperor personally involved in arranging my daughter’s marriage, which has already been decided?”

Lucas added to Benjamin, whose words were rude enough to be considered treasonous.

“Historically, the Emperor has always had a direct say in the marriages of alphas and omegas. That hasn’t changed recently.”

“But Count Wagner is also a dominant alpha. There’s no reason for His Majesty to be concerned.”

Lucas, glaring at the hesitant Benjamin and Sarah, spoke.

“The command of the messenger bearing the Emperor’s edict holds more weight than when I visit as a duke. Does a count not understand this? Max!”

Lucas had not come alone today. Max, the captain of the duchy’s knights who had accompanied him, stepped forward at the call.

“If anyone refuses His Majesty’s command, arrest them immediately!”

“Yes, Your Grace! I will follow your command!”

Not only Max, but the knights with him also raised their voices. Overwhelmed by their spirit, Benjamin’s plump cheeks quivered as he stood uncertainly. At that moment, Sarah stepped forward quietly.

“Leila is not yet awake. Could you allow us time to finish our morning routine?”
