Chapter 2.1
‘Reborn as a rabbit. I’m a rabbit!!!’
In her previous life, she had lived miserably for 20 years as the human Hong Yeonhwa. She thought she would now live loved by her family and called a princess, but shockingly, she was a rabbit princess.
She was a princess, but a rabbit therianthrope princess.
Elena Harus, born as the youngest princess to the loving royal couple, the King and Queen, today marks exactly ten days since her birth.
Still a tiny rabbit lying in a cradle, Elena felt utterly miserable about her situation.
‘How long do I have to stay a rabbit? Mom, Dad, and my five twin brothers have ears on their heads and tails, but at least they look like humans… Su-surely I don’t have to live like this forever! Celestial God!’
She tried to request a conversation with the Celestial God who made her be born as a rabbit princess, but the room remained silent.
Click.
‘Someone’s here! Is it my nanny Natalie? Or my maid Lulu? It’s not mealtime yet, so it probably isn’t either of them. Who is it?’
Unable to tell who had entered the room unless they came close, Elena couldn’t help but feel tense.
“Gulp.”
Thud.
Thud.
‘Those footsteps aren’t an adult’s. Then!’
“El~ Our lovely youngest! Big brother is here!”
‘Ah, it’s Rune.’
Born as the eldest of the quintuplets, he was distinctively small and frail, making him easy to recognize.
The age difference between Elena and her five brothers was ten years.
Her worries about them being jealous and bullying her proved groundless—if anything, they loved her too much, to the point of being annoying. The most bothersome brother was now looking down at her with an overwhelmingly affectionate expression, poking her cheeks with his finger.
“El, grow up quickly so we can hold hands, go boating, and travel to many places together. This brother is learning horseback riding for you right now! I’ll definitely let you ride a horse!”
‘Horse… as if I could ride one?’
Elena burst into laughter without realizing it. Unfortunately, it was a mocking laugh, but her oldest brother took it positively and was delighted. Elena let out a short breath, thinking he could interpret it however he wanted.
Bang-!
“I knew it! You said you were going to the bathroom, but you’re here with Eli!”
“You guys! Can’t you be quiet! You’ll startle El!”
“Are you going to keep breaking promises like this?!”
“That’s right! We also want to see Eli, but we’re patiently waiting for our time!”
‘Ah… so noisy.’
They fought like this several times a day just to see their little sister. Thanks to her five twin brothers, whose love was so overwhelming it was annoying, Elena was exhausted.
“Princes! What are you all doing here?!”
“Na-Natalie!”
“Quickly go to the study room! If you keep disturbing the Princess’s sleep time, I will report to His Majesty or Her Majesty!”
“Ah, fine! I’m going!”
Just as Elena thought she might finally have some peace thanks to her nanny, Rio, the youngest brother, suddenly stuck his face close to hers, kissed her forehead, saying he’d see her later, and left.
‘They’re incredibly annoying… but I really love it.’
The difference between her current life and the 20 years she spent living with abuse and discrimination was like heaven and earth. Although being born as a tiny silver-furred rabbit princess was somewhat shocking, Elena was simply happy with this life.
Perfect parents who were overjoyed to have the daughter they so desperately wanted. Five twin brothers who adored their little sister.
“Our Princess~ You’re so well-behaved, not even crying. Now, let me put you back to sleep.”
There was also Natalie, the nanny who was like a second mother, staying by her side most of the time in place of her mother who had become unwell after giving birth to her youngest.
Click.
“Lady Natalie. Is the Princess awake?”
“Don’t even mention it. The princes came rushing in and woke her up, so I sent them to the study room.”
“Hehe, but the princes adore the Princess so much. Usually, when a new sibling is born, they’re treated badly. My older sisters and brothers bullied me so much.”
“Well. Our princes are exceptionally fond of their sister.”
“That’s why I’m saying. But they can’t help it. She’s so lovable. Our Princess Elena.”
Lulu, the lady-in-waiting who had just turned twenty this year. Born as the youngest daughter of a high-ranking noble family, she was selected to be Princess Elena’s lady-in-waiting. She serves the youngest princess alongside the nanny Natalie.
‘Lulu’s hands are so soft. And she seems to have a pleasant scent. I’m not sure what fragrance it is, though.’
“By the way, when do you think our Princess will become a therianthrope? Don’t they usually begin transformation 2 or 3 days after birth?”
“Hmm… I’m worried about that too. But Dr. Wilson said there’s nothing wrong with her body, so she should be fine.”
“That’s right~ Our Princess. When you finally transform, I’ll make you many pretty clothes.”
Elena wanted to say thank you, but being unable to make any sounds in her rabbit state was one of her frustrations.
When she was very hungry or needed physiological help, crying out was Elena’s only way to communicate.
“Now, our Princess. Take another nap and then we’ll have some yummy food.”
‘I’m not particularly sleepy… hmm.’
As Natalie gently rocked her in her warm embrace, Elena fell asleep. Lulu, watching from the side, smiled.
“My~ Our Princess is so gentle.”
“Indeed. When the five twin princes were babies, if one cried, they all followed suit, causing so much trouble.”
Natalie carefully placed the youngest princess in her cradle and slightly lifted her bottom to put a diaper underneath.
“By the way, Lady Natalie. How is Her Majesty? She’s alright, isn’t she?”
