Chapter 190
Schluck, schlup. The wet, sloppy sounds grew thicker, and when the overflowing saliva trickled down, his slick tongue licked up her chin as if he couldn’t bear to waste a drop. The man with a strong stomach even licked away the dried bloodstains. When Roseline recoiled in disgust, he simply said, “Why? It’s your blood,” and swallowed her lips again. Her awareness that this act had started with her own provocation, and her resolve not to back down, gradually began to scatter.
The hand that had been gripping her nape slid down her back to cup her b*****k, and her wavering reason tightened sharply once more. A rebellious urge to stand her ground and not back down since she started this provocation clashed with the judgment that mixing bodies might be going too far.
It was then that the shameless hand roaming her hips and b******s grabbed the strings of her dress as if to undress her. Hk. Roseline inhaled sharply and stiffened rigidly. A laugh transmitted through their connected lips.
He pulled his lips away without a trace of reluctance, as if the time for devouring her like a starved beast had passed. At the same time, he let go of the dress strings with a tug and lightly rubbed Roseline’s lips, now smeared with his saliva.
“What exactly are you offering, trembling like this?”
His low, raspy voice scraped against her. Roseline slapped away the hand toying with her lips and looked up at him.
“It’s because I dislike it.”
“You dislike it?”
“I said I’d give it if you need it, but it’s not like I can like you, Your Grace.”
Roseline admitted her twisted desire. She hated his composure. Even now. As if it hadn’t been just moments ago that he fell for a childish provocation and wrecked his office, Valen snorted and licked the corner of his mouth where her saliva clung.
“Let me ask you one thing. How often do you think about the Baroness?”
It was an absurd question. Both its timing and content were utterly ridiculous. Think about her how much? Of course, I don’t.
Maybe I think of her occasionally when a letter comes from the estate? Other than that, hardly at all. But unsure of his intent, she didn’t answer.
“Who else could there be? Ah, Vermouth?”
The follow-up question was also highly suspicious. Why on earth would I think of that potato-like fellow? Besides, it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen or heard what he’s up to. But again, she didn’t answer, simply glaring at him in silence.
“But I,”
Only then did she grasp the intent behind his questions. He watched the ripple of understanding in her eyes and leisurely curved the corners of his mouth. As if he knew perfectly well that Roseline thought of him more than necessary.
“You don’t even pay attention to the things you dislike.”
“What are you trying to say?”
“You should know. Since you seem unaware.”
This was utterly unbelievable.
She was so dumbfounded she was left speechless.
“I’ll send Schnitzel away, as promised.”
“…….”
“Go on. Before you get eaten alive.”
Valen, having completely regained his composure, even opened the door for her. It was, how should she put it, the languid expression of a well-fed beast. Outside the half-open door, Merrick and the butler, who had rushed over at the commotion, were pacing with worried expressions. It was then that Roseline, who had been frozen in place from sheer absurdity, finally snapped out of it.
“Thank you, Your Grace.”
Roseline pulled the corners of her mouth up as far as she could. Then, standing very close to him, she reached out as if to adjust his appearance. As she lightly brushed his shoulders, his solid muscles tensed, making his shirt stretch taut.
“I do think about you in various ways, Your Grace. But you’re the one who made it that way. You kept me trapped in the Duchy, telling me to think a lot, so how could I not? If you tell me to do it, I have to.”
Valen’s eyes followed the small hand roaming over his shirt, moving slowly. Roseline, having lightly caressed his shoulders and arms, took a step back and beamed brightly.
“Another day has passed, so now there are only twenty-nine days left until the day I can stop thinking about you, Your Grace.”
As if she were counting down the days until her liberation.

The more she thought about it, the more infuriating it was.
What? ‘You should know’? That I’m the one who’s unaware?
In front of Valen, she had managed to smile brightly, pretending it was nothing. But from the moment she turned away leisurely, watching his expression harden once more, something boiled furiously inside her.
Hold back, don’t get drawn in. This too is an ordeal, a test. She brainwashed herself constantly, but whenever that day suddenly popped into her mind, her stomach churned violently. She even had a nightmare that night.
