Chapter 41
He was daydreaming about how his retainers would lose their minds when he heard the bathroom door creak open. He immediately straightened from where he was leaning in the tub. The sound of footsteps was far too small and light to be a threat.
“What’s this? You’re still awake at this hour?”
She’d suddenly declared she wanted vacation time and asserted her labor rights, so he’d left her alone—wondering what was going through the mind of the skittish but occasionally erratic rabbit.
She had stayed in her cage without incident, so he’d assumed she was just tired of dealing with humans and really did want some rest. In fact, she’d been losing weight despite eating well, probably from dealing with him every night.
So lately, he’d just been checking that she was asleep without waking her up. But now here she was, hopping her way here when she should’ve been deep asleep. Teia was a little surprised.
The rabbit approached Teia with quick, eager steps. Since the tub was built into the floor, their eye level matched perfectly as Teia sat soaking inside.
The floor around the tub was wet from spilled water, but today, the rabbit—who usually hated water—walked confidently on her little feet, not even caring that her paws were getting wet.
“Why?”
Teia rested his chin on his crossed arms at the edge of the tub, looking at the rabbit.
Under the soft orange glow of the lights, droplets of water sparkled on Teia’s shoulders and forearms. Muscles rippled from his shoulders down to his arms in beautiful curves.
His wet hair was slicked back, making his features even more sharply defined. Unlike his usual gentle appearance, he now gave off a sharp and solid air.
With damp forepaws, the rabbit grabbed both of Teia’s cheeks and lifted herself up.
Not knowing what was happening, Teia flinched slightly as her tiny mouth gently kissed the tip of his nose and pulled away.
Teia jerked backward on reflex. The rabbit lost its balance and tumbled to the floor with a thump.
He hadn’t pulled away out of disgust—just sheer surprise. Now that he thought about it, dogs and cats often nuzzled their owners like that when seeking affection.
Did she learn a new trick?
It was natural to tense up at sudden contact. Teia was busy justifying his reaction when his gaze landed on the rabbit sprawled pitifully on the tiles.
…Pweeeh.
The rabbit’s face twisted in betrayal. She’d come to be affectionate, only to be shoved away. For the first time, Teia vaguely grasped the meaning of “heart-wrenching.”
Simultaneously, a darker thought slithered in: A crying rabbit is so much more appetizing.
Despite her wounded pride, the rabbit stubbornly clambered back onto all fours. A growing rabbit doesn’t give up over minor setbacks! Steeling herself, she launched into a sprint toward Teia’s chest—only for her paws to skid on the wet bathroom floor.
Skreee—
The 60-degree incline of Teia’s torso proved too slippery. Just as she was about to leap, her hind legs slid out, sending her flailing toward the bathtub instead. Teia’s hand shot out, snagging her by the ears mid-fall.
His reflexes were sharp, but habit was a terrifying thing. Though saved from drowning, the rabbit now dangled in midair, ears firmly in his grip.
“What were you planning to do in the bathroom, huh?”
Her ears hurt. His scolding stung. Teia’s sharp tone was born of panic—he’d imagined her reckless dive ending in disaster—but Lilith, already stressed from days of wedding preparations, felt everything piling up.
When her body began shimmering into human form, Teia released her ears. Now human, Lilith clung to him, droplets (bathwater? tears?) clinging to her long lashes.
“I think… I’m in heat.”
Teia’s arms instinctively wrapped around her waist. Heat? There was none of the usual overwhelming pheromones. Yet she stubbornly nuzzled into his neck, lips brushing his skin.
“You want to roll around like you’re in heat?”
“Mhm.”
“So that’s why you barged in here?”
“Mhm.”
“Because you’re that desperate for my c**k?”
“…Haa. Mhm.”
Her legs locked around his waist. Teia sat back in the tub, Lilith settling astride his lap as if it were her rightful place. The water made her feel lighter, buoyant. His hands kneaded her thighs before a finger prodded at her tight entrance.
“If my rabbit wants to be f****d like she’s in heat, I’ll ruin her.”
