Chapter 39
‘Damn it.’
He had only meant to think of her out of pity, but Dieter ended up picturing Elena’s naked body. Her steady gaze and the curves of her body, which he had never actually seen, were engraved so vividly in his mind that they would not disappear.
Even that horrific sight of the portrait that resembled him reflected on the surface of the water as he held her.
“You’re chewing over the memories I gave you so hard, they must have been quite impressive, huh?”
A whisper echoed in the empty drawing room. A familiar and horrific voice rattling right against his ear. It belonged to the Devil that had claimed Dieter Conrad.
“Want me to let you see it for yourself this time? Just say the word. I’ll bring her before you right now. I’ll make her crawl like a dog all the way from the annex without a single stitch of clothing on. By the time she crawls here, her limbs will be so thrashed that she won’t be able to resist once even when you f**k her to your heart’s content.”
“…….”
Dieter packed his things, pretending not to hear the Devil’s disgusting whispers. The Devil cackled and raised its voice even more.
“Your Grace. I can help you. I will save you from that Devil brat. I’ll gladly spread my legs for you.”
Ah, please.
“Hurry, Your Grace. Shove your c**k into my c**t!”
If he tore his ears off, would he stop hearing this?
“What’s wrong? Or is your taste more like your father’s—violently raping them? My goodness. How revolting.”
Dieter stood up, gritting his teeth. He didn’t even have the mind to set Elena’s luggage back down. He just wanted to block his ears, to rip them away.
Driven by that violent impulse, he hurriedly climbed the stairs.
“Our innocent Duke.”
The Devil mocked his frantic footsteps.
“Or why don’t you go and shove it in yourself? Hmm? She said she’d save you. If you act all pitiful and beg to be buried in her horny p***y, I bet she’d love it.”
The voice returned to its original, inhuman demonic sound…….
“Your Grace. I want to take your c**k in my mouth. Please, f**k me.”
The moment it mimicked Elena’s voice, Dieter Conrad slammed his head into the wall decoration beside him.
Thud.
Thud.
“Ugh. Crazy bastard. At it again.”
Thud.
Thud.
“Poor Dieter Conrad. Poor deposed Crown Prince.”
To erase the Devil’s voice.
“You should have just let yourself be devoured quietly. If you had, I would have let you live in eternal pleasure. That exorcist you left in the annex would’ve been crying up and down while impaled on your c**k by now, wouldn’t she?”
Thud.
Thud.
“Why act so innocent? I know you’re in heat anyway. Because you want to see that flesh I showed you yesterday again…….”
Just as he hoped, the sound gradually grew faint. The pain from his torn forehead drowned out the voice.
Only after the Devil’s whispers, which he had pretended not to hear hundreds of times, became as faint as the sound of rain outside the window did Dieter stop his self-harm.
He climbed the stairs with his forehead mangled. When he reached the second floor and opened the bedroom door, dizziness washed over him. His vision flickered black. Something must have gone wrong from the impact.
What did it matter? Even if he were to die like this, it would be hell again by morning.
He collapsed onto the bed with a self-mocking laugh. The blood flowing from his torn forehead stained the white bed red. The unpleasant sensation of his body being soaked brought him a strange sense of relief.
Since the flowing blood was all his, there was no way it belonged to the woman.
Elena of Wellington. A woman as warm as the southern sunshine.
Please let her be alive tomorrow. And the day after that, and the day after that.
<……I hope a good dream finds you.>
I hope you have peaceful dreams.
And though I whisper this small wish in secret, Elena.
‘……I hope we can meet again, even if only in a dream.’
* * *
“A good dream, you say.”
“…….”
“That’s the best idea that’s ever come out of that head of yours.”
“…….”
