Chapter 19.4
“So, do they really recruit the castle’s soldiers based on looks alone?”
“We all belong to the lord. The lord naturally should have good things, so they said if you’re not beautiful, you have no value.”
“Looks aren’t everything, though.”
She was chatting amicably with Lupe, who had been assigned as her attendant. They seemed to have become quite close, speaking casually like friends, which somehow didn’t sit well with him.
“Looks are important, Ju-in. The reason why the commander became the pride of this castle is because people admire his appearance.”
“Hmm. I see.”
“But don’t worry. Now that the commander has taken you as his partner, he won’t give any opportunity to other women.”
“I’m telling you, I have no intention of marrying…”
It seemed like something unpleasant was about to come out of her mouth. Dienes unconsciously interrupted.
***
“If you have something to say to me, you should meet me directly.”
“Eek?”
A cool baritone voice was heard, as if rubbing cold ice on the nape of my neck. When I turned my head, I saw Dienes standing at the doorway.
Unlike yesterday, he wasn’t wearing his neat uniform, but a white silk blouse with tidy black slacks. Even from the side, he looked like he had come from resting.
The problem was that he looked extremely displeased for someone who had come from resting.
“Co-Commander.”
Lupe, who was sitting across from me, hurriedly stood up and bowed.
Lupe is more sensitive to sound because he can’t see. Perhaps sensing Dienes’ poor mood from his voice, Lupe was visibly tense.
“I ordered you to prepare meals, not to engage in idle chat.”
“I-I’m sorry!”
Lupe apologized, bowing so low it was pitiful.
“I asked first. Lupe was just answering, so don’t scold him.”
“……”
Dienes silently knocked on the door twice. It wasn’t meant as a knock. Judging by how Lupe hurriedly ran out, it must have been a signal to leave.
After Lupe left the room, Dienes closed the door and walked towards me with heavy steps. His green eyes glowed dangerously as if filled with poison. Though maintaining an expressionless face, it was clear he was extremely displeased.
It ended up looking like we were gossiping behind his back, but honestly, if it’s about Dienes, I’m not at fault. Just think about what he did to me. If Dienes doesn’t apologize to me, why should I feel guilty?
Dienes approached with heavy steps and stopped in front of me. His snake-like eyes scanned me sideways.
I pressed my lips together and leaned back against the sofa. If you don’t apologize, I won’t either!
Dienes asked me in a cold voice.
“Did you send the meal away?”
“I don’t usually eat breakfast.”
“I sent it for you to eat.”
“My stomach won’t accept it, should I force myself to eat?”
“Yes.”
Yes? Did he just say yes?
I was about to protest that this wasn’t an appropriate answer when Dienes wrapped his arm around my waist and lifted me up.
“Let go! What are you trying to do!”
“I had the meal prepared, thinking you’d be tired, but seeing you chatting excitedly with Lupe, it seems my consideration was unnecessary.”
Dienes carried me and pushed aside the relief on the right side of the wall where the bed was. With a rumbling sound, the wall rotated, revealing stairs going down.
What kind of structure does this castle have?
“We’ll start the education right away.”
“Are you crazy?”
After suffering so much yesterday that I passed out, and having just woken up, you want me to do that again? It’s absurd.
I clung to Dienes and hit his back repeatedly.
“Put me down! This is pure perversion… Eek!”
When he slapped my bottom, my waist reflexively jerked, and my arms slipped.
“I think it’s better to let you know that causing a disturbance isn’t very good for you.”
Then he slapped my bottom once more. The sound wasn’t loud, but this one hurt more.
“Ow, it hurts!”
“If you stay still, there won’t be any more painful incidents.”
Educating through hitting is extremely barbaric. It’s been so long since corporal punishment was abolished in modern times!
“Dienes, put me down!”
“I will put you down.”
Dienes, who had already descended the stairs, walked briskly and threw me onto the altar.
“Ugh!”
It didn’t hurt because the surface was soft, but being thrown like a sack of goods didn’t feel particularly good.
“What are you doing?”
Even as I glared at him, breathing heavily, he climbed onto the altar with an indifferent expression, as if it was no big deal. As the distance between us suddenly closed, my body tensed up.
“I’m going to continue yesterday’s education.”
“Wh-what, it’s still daylight…”
“That’s why I can educate you for a long time, can’t I?”
Dienes tilted his head sideways.
“We’re not in a situation where we have the luxury of teaching you slowly over time. You know that since the monster attraction operation failed, there’s no other way to protect the castle except by making you the lord, right?”
“I know that! But…”
“If you intend to let the castle collapse, you can refuse.”
Hovering over me, Dienes said indifferently. His expression showed no emotion, as if he didn’t care whether the castle crumbled or people died. It was infuriating to see him looking as if he had little interest but was complying because I demanded it.
‘He’s the commander. Why is he so irresponsible?’
If he really wants to make me the lord, shouldn’t he… open up more deeply, and plead desperately?
“This is a crime. You know that?”
“That’s rich coming from someone who arbitrarily invaded the central palace, set fires, and destroyed warehouses.”
That may be true! But this and that are different.
“Wh-what does doing this have to do with me becoming the lord?”
Although the quest says I need to mix bodies with Dienes to complete it, isn’t that only applicable to me? I don’t understand why Dienes wants to do this with me.
“It’s to amplify the lord’s power.”
Dienes swept the surface of the altar. The smooth, soft surface was completely dry. I’m sure it was soaking wet yesterday. Did Dienes clean it all up?
“The more the lord develops their senses through climax, the stronger the castle’s control becomes. Maintaining youth with magic stones is also to sustain satisfying physical relationships for a long time.”
“Wh-what?”
“That’s why the lord needs a partner. It’s easier to reach climax with a s*x partner than alone.”
“No, what are you…”
“There are research results showing that emotional stability and satisfaction make it easier to reach climax.”
Listening to him calmly spout nonsense, I don’t know if Dienes is the problem or if I am.
Is this shameless act how this castle is being operated?
Come to think of it, last night when Dienes was spanking my bottom and pushing in that fake p***s while talking about seeing it in his father’s diary, was that what the previous lord and his partner did to build power?
I thought it was strange that they were focusing on developing charm of all skills, but could this altar be a device that detects pleasure hormones and converts them into dominance?
‘You should have told me such important things beforehand! I didn’t know. Isn’t this a fraudulent contract?’
If I had known that becoming the lord meant doing such things with the commander, I would have…
Upon failure, your soul will be annihilated after death.
…agreed to it anyway, right? I have to do it to live.
‘This world is clearly wrong.’
If my human rights have disappeared because I’m a person who died once, shouldn’t we at least protect Dienes’ human rights?
