“The hunter has intruded into your room at will. This is a serious crime.”

“No, Senes didn’t intend to…!”

“A serious crime? Someone might think I’m a resident of this castle if they heard that.”

Unlike me, who was flapping my arms in front of Dienes like I was doing jumping jacks out of bewilderment, Senes answered calmly.

“Commander, what conditions did you set when you called the hunter to the castle? You said you called a monster hunter to lure and eliminate monsters, right? That if the monster extermination was successful, you would grant the qualification to live in this castle, along with a reward.”

So it was true that they lured him with the promise of accepting him as a castle resident.

“But you know what? There are still many monsters left outside the castle. Extermination is out of the question.”

Senes gestured towards the closed window.

“So I am still an outsider, a monster hunter, not a castle resident or your subordinate, so I don’t need to follow this castle’s rules. Even less reason to follow the orders of you, the commander.”

“……”

“How do you intend to command without even knowing this? I guess you thought I would just say yes, yes, like those shameless idiots who let you run the command center like a mess, but it’s ridiculous. It seems you’ve allocated all the stat points that should have gone to intelligence to your face?”

Damn that loose cannon of a mouth!

Stop it, you blockhead! Can’t you see Dienes’ expression is wrinkling?

As I glared at him, Senes yawned long and even half-laid down on the table, propping his arms.

“…Get up, hunter.”

“I don’t want to. Why should I?”

Although Dienes warned in a low, suppressed voice, Senes snorted and smiled faintly.

A cold wind blew. It’s sunny outside, but the temperature in this room feels like it dropped about 5 degrees.

‘Excuse me. If you two are going to fight, can’t you do it somewhere I’m not?’

I pondered. Should I stop Dienes, or should I stop Senes?

To be honest, I wanted to tell them to fight it out themselves and disappear from this world, but that wasn’t an option. I clenched both fists tightly, closed my eyes, then opened them again.

I glared at Senes, and he made an expression of disbelief.

“Why are you looking at me?”

Because you seem a bit more reasonable than the insane Dienes!

I felt bad for siding with Dienes instead of Senes, who had kindly prepared a meal for me, but if I joined forces with Senes against Dienes, it might lead to ‘Rebel’s Uprising Season 2’, so I hope he can bear with it for now.

“Senes. Don’t fight with Dienes.”

“Fight? Who’s fighting? Me? With that shameless leader of minions? That’s impossible. A fight should be with someone of matching caliber, not with someone who doesn’t understand logic, can’t be persuaded, contradicts himself, and has no loyalty, integrity, honor, or beliefs, just a decent appearance.”

“That’s enough!”

Stop it!

As I gritted my molars and trembled, Senes looked me up and down with an unimpressed expression and clicked his tongue.

My misjudgment. There was no way Senes would be reasonable either.

“Ju-in, you’re quite the opportunist. When you thought I was that man, you were boldly giving orders, but now you change your attitude just because he drew his sword, cowering in fear.”

You think I’m doing this because I’m afraid of getting hurt? I’m doing this because I’m worried you and Dienes might fight!

“Well, I expected as much. I’ve long known that you have no memory, conscience, or principles.”

“Seneees.”

“Dragging out the end of my name like that doesn’t make you look cute; it makes you look dumb. You’re not a child, so stop with the pointless aegyo.”

You madman. Does this look like aegyo to you?

Only after thoroughly observing my trembling appearance as I bit the inside of my mouth did Senes stand up with a satisfied smile.

“I’m letting it slide because I’m generous. In the future, study more on how to improve someone’s mood.”

I wanted to tell him to give up because that would never happen, but this time, too, I kept my mouth shut and endured.

My patience is amazing!

If there were a skill like ‘Endurance’, it would surely have leveled up just now.

“Wake up early, and eat your meals properly, Ju-in. Exercise often, too.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“If you keep putting it off, you’ll be in the grave before you know it. Don’t ignore my words.”

Senes reached out as if to tidy my disheveled hair, then abruptly stopped. As I looked up in confusion, he hid his hand back in his sleeve without touching me. Slightly turning his head as if avoiding my gaze.

“And dress properly.”

That’s rich coming from someone who walks around with their front exposed?

Senes turned around abruptly and left the bedroom. Dienes neither chased after Senes nor ordered his subordinates to drive him out. He just stood still, glaring at me without even checking Senes’ retreating figure.

Seen in the bright light, those green eyes look even more like a venomous snake. No, a snake eyeing its prey.

I don’t know why he’s glaring at me with such an unpleasant face. You think you’re the only one who’s angry?

Pushing down the rising anger, I scanned the table. If he’s eyeing prey, I should feed him.

Fortunately, thanks to Dienes’ intrusion, Senes left without taking back the bread. Maybe if I feed this to him, he might be freed from the cursed state.

“Dienes. Aren’t you hungry? Do you want to eat some bread?”

“I should have left it in a more visible position.”

“What?”

As I asked back, not understanding his words, a hand in a white glove traced down my neck. Ugh. I reflexively shrank my neck and tried to back away, but he grabbed the front of my nightgown.

“D-Dienes!”

I don’t know where he got it from, but it’s a new nightgown, and I can’t let him tear it again. The fabric is thin and looks like it would tear if pulled even slightly, so I quickly grabbed his hand. Naturally, my gaze fell on the exposed upper part of my chest.

Red and purple marks were visible from below the collarbone down to the cleavage. They were left by Dienes.
