It was as if to show how arrogant he had been. Leonid couldn’t tell who was who at all.

Unlike other parties, the Vesna festival required a partner of the opposite s*x. A woman who had placed her hand on his arm murmured through her mask with bright eyes,

“Your Excellency, are you able to find Miss?”

“How many times do I have to say I’m not looking? Olga.”

“Please, just try to find her for me. I came all this way because I want to see her.”

Her voice under the mask was sharp.

Leonid wasn’t the only one to hear that Yekaterina would be attending the Vesna festival. In fact, it was more accurate to say that Vasily had thrown out the information as a lure and then fled, but—

Olga, while pestering Vasily as usual for a duel, had heard about Yekaterina’s current status. She was overjoyed to learn that Yekaterina was doing well!

However, if Olga had been content with just that, she wouldn’t have led the turbulent life she had, coming from an elite force background. Known for her proactive and quick-witted nature even within the estate, Olga immediately went to slam her hand on Leonid’s desk.

“Your Excellency! Please take me with you to the Vesna festival! I’ll accept this as payment for helping at the hunting party!”

When Olga had pretended to be Yekaterina during the hunting party, it was obviously not done on an empty stomach. Although she wouldn’t have accepted anything if it hadn’t involved Yekaterina, at that time, she had received a firm promise and a note from Leonid, agreeing to participate in his plans.

In short, Olga had a wish that could be used on Leonid.

However, since it was an event at the palace, she thought she might have to negotiate with Leonid to some extent. But she had overlooked a few things.

“Alright then.”

The first was that her master seemed more distracted than usual.

And the second was that Leonid was fundamentally a person who was very indifferent to his surroundings. With his usual lack of attentiveness now focused on Yekaterina’s matter, getting his approval was as easy as pie.

As a result, Olga was a bit taken aback. She had come prepared to negotiate with her master to some extent, but now she was still somewhat dazed. Olga asked Leonid,

“Am I really going to the Vesna festival?”

“Yeah, go ahead.”

Whether this was a genuine approval or just a nod without much thought, Olga decided to push her luck further.

“…Then could you also increase my salary?”

“Sure.”

“And let me have a single room for myself!”

“Alright.”

“And when we return to the estate, could you reinstate me into the elite force?”

“Get out.”

Fortunately or unfortunately, it seemed that Leonid wasn’t just nodding absentmindedly. With the unexpected perks—an increased salary and a single room—Olga left Leonid’s office and arrived at the Vesna party hall, where she now stood.

Olga, after scanning the hall, spoke with a hint of disappointment.

“Hmmm… I thought I’d be able to find Miss right away, but it’s not as easy as I thought.”

“Well, it’s only natural with everyone wearing masks.”

Moreover, the silver hair wasn’t an unusual color, which made it harder. With everyone in masks, any woman with silver hair could start looking like Yekaterina if she had a similar height and build.

“Besides the masks… as you know, Miss has a rather unique presence.”

“Really?”

“Yes. Didn’t you notice? I was really surprised the first time I saw her.”

It was as if he had mistakenly brought a doll instead of a person. Her lack of expression, stunning beauty, and unwavering posture made her seem almost unreal. Not to mention her cold, indifferent gaze.

It was like the appearance of a sword if it were given human form.

“There aren’t many people with such a distinctive aura. I thought I’d be able to spot her even in a crowd this large.”

“That makes sense.”

As they entered deeper into the ballroom, Leonid lightly agreed. He knew well that Yekaterina possessed a unique and elusive presence.

However, Leonid’s perspective on the matter was somewhat different. He wasn’t just overconfident in recognizing Yekaterina because of her distinctive aura.

A somewhat amusing fact was that he could recognize Yekaterina simply by making eye contact. The feeling that arose when their eyes met was something only Yekaterina could evoke.

But this was also a somewhat awkward topic to bring up.

As Leonid silently walked further into the ballroom, Olga suddenly detached herself from his arm. The former elite force member was always quick to assess the situation.

“Your Excellency, I’ll go look around over there. Since Miss liked outdoor spaces, she might be on the terrace.”

“Alright.”
