Chapter 5
“Pfft—hahaha!”
Contrary to his expectations that she would be frightened or furious, she was brazenly, stubbornly blunt. It was less an expression of anger and more a demand: drop the cryptic talk and tell me what you want.
What was he to do with this little princess of Halswein? Her unguarded boldness was maddeningly endearing. Platinum hair like molten gold, eyes as clear as a bright sky—just from her appearance she was a woman resembling soft sunlight, and yet she was strong and unapologetic on top of it—how could he not compare her to sunshine?
There had been many nights he had agonized, thinking himself unable to bring himself to taint something this pure. Yet to leave her as untouched sunlight was more than his dark, consuming desire could bear.
Harriet pressed his lips to the palm of the hand that had seized his cheek, smiling with a certain playfulness.
“Truly—this is exactly why I can’t let you go.”
Once again he said something incomprehensible, and Asha’s brow arched in visible dissatisfaction. It looked as though the little princess of Halswein was about to lose her temper if he teased her any further—so he rubbed his cheek against her palm like a coaxing gesture and continued.
“Spend the night with me, Asha.”
“The night?”
Asha blinked at the vague phrasing, and after a brief moment of thought, her brow furrowed with a worried look.
“Could it be… have I been uncooperative about marital relations at night? That’s the only reason I can think of for you to make a condition like this….”
Her words trailed off as she recalled what he had said earlier, and her face flushed scarlet.
“Don’t tell me—do you actually want me to get down like a dog, Harriet?”
“Getting down like a dog would be lovely, and so would disciplining that plump, generous a*s of yours.”
“Harriet!”
The content was obscene but his tone was utterly matter-of-fact—so much so that Asha had no choice but to cry out his name like a shriek.
“H-how can you just say things like that.”
“When you desire things like this every single night, words like these come spilling out quite naturally, Asha.”
Asha’s blue eyes went wide.
“Th-then. Every single time we’ve been together, you’ve been thinking things like that—?!”
“Haha! Of course there were moments I desired it, but the sweet, gentle lovemaking we share has been more than satisfying—so there’s no need to worry, my lady. So then—”
He gave a light bite to Asha’s fingers, which had been wandering over his cheek.
“Will you accept the deal?”
He had bitten her fingers, and yet she felt a tingle spread across her entire body. She had the urge to question whether it was proper to discuss a matter of such gravity in this indecent state with her b*****s fully exposed—but it couldn’t be helped. By tomorrow, the seizure would begin.
Better to be alive than dead. Better to be rolling around with a handsome husband than sitting on a cold prison floor. She could scarcely begin to guess at the degree of humiliation he intended—but….
Thinking of the nights they’d shared until now. Thinking of the solid, impressive thing hanging below his belt—this was really not such a bad condition after all.
Why was it that the more she thought, the hotter the corners of her eyes grew? She scrunched her face and squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them, trying to shake off the rising heat. But the heat refused to subside—it only made the corners of her eyes grow redder.
He had been watching her carefully, and he noticed—his eyes curved up at the corners as he smiled. Those green eyes, curved in that sly, half-lidded way, were dangerously seductive. The longer she looked, the more she felt herself being drawn under a spell—and at last she cried out as though fleeing from it.
“Fine! But you have to promise you won’t leave any permanent marks on me.”
“My, as if I could ever harm you.”
Joy spread openly across his face. And then he pressed his lips softly to hers. She had braced herself for something far worse, and the tender kiss swept her away before she could think.
One might suspect this was the biased review of a wife with stars in her eyes—but she swore on her life, objectively speaking, he was extraordinarily good. It took not even a moment for the tender kiss to turn obscene.
Asha’s awkward tongue tried stiffly to imitate his movements—but before she knew it, it was hopelessly ensnared by the coiling, serpentine work of his. The kiss grew fiercer with every shared breath. Lips grinding urgently against each other was only the beginning—the angle of their heads shifted again and again without pause.
“Hah~mmph.”
