Chapter 191
“Don’t you think you’re trying to get out of my arms a little too quickly? Do you love swimming that much?”
“It’s not like that…”
Suhyeon was afraid of the ocean but liked swimming pools. Unlike the sea, pools felt bright and safe.
As her words trailed off, Jeonghan lightly kissed the tip of her nose, then gave her lips a soft baby kiss. After that, he let her go.
“Go shower. I’ll be waiting at the pool.”
“Okay.”
When Jeonghan released her without resistance, Suhyeon stood up again.
This time, she slowly lifted herself as Jeonghan watched her with a languid smile on his face.
Glancing back at him briefly, Suhyeon walked to the bathroom.
After showering in the spacious bathroom’s shower booth, she opened her
suitcase to take out her swimsuit.
Ah… but.
Suhyeon made a troubled expression.
Since they were going to an island, she had even prepared a bikini she’d never worn before, but when it came time to actually put it on, she felt embarrassed.
‘It’s just the two of us, so what does it matter?’
She had been completely undressed just a moment ago anyway.
Besides, the other villas were so far away they looked like mere dots; no one else would be able to see her.
Gaining courage from that thought, Suhyeon put on the bikini and stepped outside.
Jeonghan was drinking a martini in the wide pool, where the light of the sunset shimmered.
When she appeared in her bikini, Jeonghan turned to look at her.
“…..”
She saw his once-relaxed gaze darken in an instant.
‘Why do I feel embarrassed?’
Jeonghan’s piercing gaze, devoid of any humor, made Suhyeon feel shy, and she couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes. Instead, she quickly stepped into the pool.
Even after entering the pool, Suhyeon kept her head lowered in embarrassment as Jeonghan silently watched her.
“Ah… Jeonghan?”
When Jeonghan lifted her body and placed her on the edge of the pool’s railing, Suhyeon let out a startled cry.
Now seated on the railing, her wet body bathed in the hues of the sunset,
Suhyeon found Jeonghan gazing at her as if admiring her.
Under his stare, her cheeks turned red.
“Didn’t you wear it to show me?”
At Jeonghan’s leisurely question, Suhyeon avoided his gaze and answered,
“That’s true, but…”
“If you’re in the water, I can’t see anything at all.”
Jeonghan curled his lips into a smile and rested both elbows on Suhyeon’s thighs as he looked up at her. His eyes traced over every inch of her body in the bikini.
“…Still, looking so blatantly is embarrassing.”
Suhyeon blushed and furrowed her brow.
Jeonghan, still gazing up at her, let out a soft laugh.
“You’re so beautiful. If I don’t look, I’m the one losing out. And I don’t do things that make me lose.”
“Geez, you sound like a businessman…”
Suhyeon muttered softly.
Without breaking his gaze, Jeonghan swept back his damp hair from his forehead.
…Ah.
The sight of his chiseled face and muscular arms as he ran his hand through his hair sent Suhyeon’s heart racing.
Once again, resting his elbows on her thighs, he looked up at Suhyeon with a captivating gaze. His broad shoulders and muscular arms, glistening with water, shimmered.
The image of the beautiful man bathed in the colors of the sunset held Suhyeon’s attention as she quietly returned his gaze.
As his steady eyes filled with even more intensity, Suhyeon began to feel the heat rising in her chest.
“…But.”
“Yeah.”
Jeonghan answered as he sensually brushed his hand over her thigh.
“Really… When do you sleep? Do you even sleep?”
As if trying to make conversation, Suhyeon asked again. Jeonghan let out a light laugh.
“Would you believe me if I said I’m scared?”
At his calm tone, Suhyeon blinked.
“Scared…?”
Jeonghan gazed at her with a tranquil expression.
“I’m afraid that if I fall asleep, I’ll wake up and Seol Suhyeon will be gone.”
Me?
Surprised by his unexpected answer, Suhyeon looked at him with a puzzled expression.
“Why would you think that?”
“I’m not sure, but there’s this vague fear. I can’t fully understand it myself.”
Listening quietly to Jeonghan’s low voice, Suhyeon let out a soft sigh.
“It’s because of me. Because I kept pushing you away…”
Her face darkened as she thought about how, for such a long time, all she had done was push him away.
Jeonghan extended his arm and gently caressed her cheek.
