Jeonghan smiled softly at her tense gaze.
“It’s nothing to be nervous about.”
He brushed away the fine strands of hair that had fallen across her forehead, speaking in a reassuring tone.
“What is it?” Suhyeon asked, her eyes now calmer as she met his gaze.
Jeonghan curled the corners of his lips as he spoke.
“It’s about when we first met.”
Suhyeon’s eyes widened slightly.
“First met…? We first met on the company rooftop…”
“Not then. We met much earlier.”
“Really?”
Suhyeon’s eyes grew even rounder at this unexpected revelation. Looking into those eyes tinged with sunset light, Jeonghan continued.
“It was when I was at the orphanage.”
“The orphanage…”
Suhyeon fell into thought, mentally calculating Jeonghan’s age.
“You came there with Seol Hee-nam. When I saw that man, I ran away to the mountains without thinking, and you followed me.”
Suhyeon looked up at him.
“How old were we then?”
“I was 11, you were 8.”
“…”
Suhyeon fell silent again, seemingly lost in thought.
Jeonghan continued in a gentle voice, “Even though I told you to go back down, you wouldn’t listen and kept following me, so I had no choice but to climb the mountain with you.”
A wistful smile played across Jeonghan’s handsome face.
Even now, remembering Suhyeon’s dirt-covered face from that day brought a smile to his lips. Her chubby cheeks, still young then, and those large beautiful eyes.
After pondering deeply, Suhyeon carefully asked, “Was your name back then… Seo Joon-oh?”
Jeonghan looked at her with surprise.
“You actually remember? That was the fake name I gave you that day.”
Suhyeon quickly waved her hands.
“Ah! I don’t actually remember it. Mom told me the name.”
“Oh Kyung-hee?”
Jeonghan’s eyebrows curved.
“Yes. After I went with…” Suhyeon paused, seemingly reluctant to say Seol Hee-nam’s name, furrowing her brow before continuing, “…that person for some volunteer work, I apparently kept mentioning the name Seo Joo-oh to Mom. I even asked if we could go back to the orphanage.”
“…”
Jeonghan gazed at her quietly.
Suhyeon continued, “It was too far to actually go, but Mom said I kept begging for a while. She remembered because it seemed like my first love. Oh my, so that means you were…”
Suhyeon looked at Jeonghan with newfound wonder in her eyes.
Jeonghan tilted his head and gently captured her parted lips.
“Ah.”
After the sweet kiss, he released her lips and gazed at her with intense eyes.
“So that’s why you wouldn’t listen when I told you to leave.”
His eyes curved attractively as he smiled.
“So I was Suhyeon’s first love.”
“I suppose… that’s true.”
Suhyeon nodded, the surprise still evident on her face.
Jeonghan’s eyes smoldered with quiet intensity as he watched her expression.
“To think I didn’t know until now… that’s a bit unfair.”
“I didn’t know because you never told me. It was so long ago…”
Though she couldn’t remember the incident when her mother mentioned the name, somehow it had stayed with her inexplicably – that name, Seo Joon-oh.
From her hazy memories, a nostalgic image emerged – a beautiful ocean scene. A winter seashore.
‘Was that ocean near the orphanage where Jeonghan lived?’
As Suhyeon pondered this with slightly flushed cheeks, Jeonghan interlaced his fingers with hers and met her gaze.
“There’s another reason I remember you from back then.”
“What is it?”
Suhyeon looked at him with eyes full of curiosity.
“That day, I almost had my real name discovered by Seol Hee-nam, but you helped me.”
“I helped you? I helped Jeonghan?”
Suhyeon blinked in surprise.
“Yes.”
Jeonghan nodded slowly. A smile bloomed across Suhyeon’s face.
“Ah… I’m glad.”
Though she couldn’t remember, Suhyeon felt happy knowing she had helped Jeonghan.
“That’s why I could never forget,” Jeonghan whispered softly, gently caressing their intertwined fingers.
He thought perhaps that’s why Suhyeon had felt even more special when he visited Seol Hee-nam’s house during his military service and saw her as an adult.
‘Maybe you were my first love too,’ he thought. ‘Seeing how I still can’t forget that pretty face, even covered in dirt.’
Jeonghan, who had been watching her with an enchanting smile, softly kissed her round nose where the dirt had been that day.
“Thank you for helping me… though I couldn’t say it back then.”
His low voice brought a bright smile to her lips.
“Thank you too. For remembering me from back then.”
Suhyeon smiled, her eyes curving prettily.
Her smile made Jeonghan’s heart ache with overwhelming emotion.
Suhyeon’s smile always seemed to take his breath away like this.
“…”
After watching her for a while as if he’d forgotten how to breathe, Jeonghan lifted her chin.
With eyes that had grown dark with desire, he said, “I love you, Seol Suhyeon.”
“…I love you too.”
Her whispered response was captured by his lips.
He bit her soft lips gently before parting them to slip his tongue inside.
When his wet tongue curled around hers, Suhyeon let out a soft “Ah.” Jeonghan swallowed her moan along with her breath as he parted her lips wider. As their tongues intertwined more intimately, their sweet saliva mingled together.
Jeonghan finally released her lips after kissing her deeply as if trying to drink in all of her essence.
“Haah…”
Suhyeon’s shoulders rose as she exhaled deeply.
Her moistened lips were swollen and glistening. His eyes, darkened with desire, couldn’t be hidden even in the sunset light as he stared at those lips.
Under his gaze, Suhyeon felt her body growing hot.
Jeonghan sensually traced her wet lips with his thumb, furrowing his smooth brow.
“How do you always break my self-control like this, Seol Suhyeon?”
With a low, fierce voice, Jeonghan lifted her up.
“Ah.”
He placed her body on top of his, settling her on his firm thighs, their eyes meeting. Suhyeon was now looking down at him from her higher position.
She swallowed hard as she saw the burning desire in Jeonghan’s eyes.
“Here…?”
“I know.”
Jeonghan captured her lips again. He savored them like sweet fruit before releasing them and gripping her body firmly with both hands.
“…Hnn.”
When his strong hands gripped her rounded bottom firmly through the thin dress, Suhyeon’s body trembled.
“Don’t worry. Only I will see you.”
As he said this, Jeonghan used his lips to untie the ribbon at the chest of Suhyeon’s dress.
“Ah, wait…”
As the fitted line came undone, his eyes grew even darker.
“Um, Jung… han… unnh.”
Suhyeon let out ragged breaths.
Hah, haah…
Although the bedroom was on the third floor and the mansion’s structure meant they weren’t easily visible from outside, being on the terrace made her nervous.
That tension only heightened her physical excitement.
Jeonghan raised his eyes to Suhyeon’s face as she breathed heavily.
Ah.
When their eyes met, he’s burning with desire, Suhyeon’s body grew even hotter.
“You look so beautiful colored by the sunset. Just like that day I proposed.”
“Ah… in the Maldives?”
“Yes. That day.”
Jeonghan answered as he parted his lips.
“Ahhnn.”
Suhyeon moaned at the sensation of his smooth lips enveloping her.
“That day too, your whole body was tinted golden, driving me crazy with how beautiful you were.”
“Hnn, ahh, Jeonghan…”
Suhyeon trembled, shaking. As the pleasure grew more intense, her vision became hazier.
