“Word has it that you caught that bastard Ovid’s attention. I understand why now.”

“Huh? What about Ovid…”

“Arcanda, that bastard isn’t what’s important now. What matters is that I am here in front of you.”

His blue eyes flickered with an unfathomable intensity. Slowly, as if unable to resist the presence staring directly at him, he reached out his hand. Her golden hair tangled in his fingers. Despite feeling his approaching breath, Arcanda couldn’t even lift a finger.

“You are beautiful, and I am insatiably greedy. So, if you don’t run away…” His lips brushed against hers, and he spoke under his breath. “If you don’t run away, I will kiss you, Saint.”」

Iora, realizing that she even remembered details from the original work she hadn’t thoroughly read, understood that this was a gift from Sol.

And her face flushed hotly at the content. Indeed, Iora, who often skimmed through “The Saint’s Flower” and occasionally forgot about it, couldn’t help but squirm at the occasionally explicit descriptions, even though it was an all-ages novel without any R-rated content.

Especially, Vigros!

In the scenes with him, she remembered skimming through it more quickly.

‘But I think this version of him is a little different.’

Rather than a sexy man grinning like a vampire as he nuzzled the nape of a woman’s neck, the first image that came to mind was a rogue laughing barefoot while holding an apple. If the former exuded a devilish charm, the latter seemed more like an elf who might skip lightly through a forest.

Devil or elf, both were stunningly beautiful.

‘This man — he might be prettier than me.’

Tilting his head slightly and smiling narrowly, Vigros lifted the rose in his hand to his mouth and took a deep breath. The fragrance wafted around. He was positioned like he was posing for a magazine cover.

How flustered he was when she suddenly offered an apology. It was amusing to see him not only adapt to it but even enjoy the fragrance, despite extending the flower with an air of playful vengeance. His relaxed demeanor, like soft velvet, suited him well.

“But why suddenly trespass on someone else’s property at this late hour? What if you get caught?”

“Hmph, that’s all your fault. Singing so loudly, how could I resist coming to watch?”

“Oh my. So you came to enjoy the free concert then? How shameless.”

“Why? Do you want me to pay you?”

“Sure.”

“Well then. That’s settled. Since I’ve received a rose as a gift, I’ll grant most requests. So, speak up. What do you want?”

How hadn’t this person changed at all? Iora burst into laughter. Her shoulders lifted, and her joyful laughter soared through the air. Even as the birds fluttered in surprise, she couldn’t stop laughing.

Vigros, why are you being so kind to me? Does he realize that question was mixed into her laughter? In the past and even now, he appeared like a fairy—unexpectedly granting wishes at crucial moments

“You’re a cheerful girl.”

“I’ve never heard that before.”

“Why?”

Instead of laughter, he’s always been a character who constantly received insults. Come to think of it, they did have something in common. Were they both people who were always shunned no matter where they went?

“I had forgotten how to laugh.”

“And now you’re laughing because of me?”

Iora wondered why things always ended like this with him. She stared at him, almost dumbstruck, as the enthusiastic expression on the handsome man turned seductive.

He whispered in an enticing voice, something he was surely doing intentionally, “I get it, I’ve been told over and over again that I’m so damn handsome that I make people smile. You smile just looking at me, don’t you?”

“While being handsome is an objective fact, hearing it from the person themselves is rather tacky and rude. You should show some modesty, you know?”

“What are you talking about? No matter what I say, I should still be cute, right?”

“No, it’s not cute at all.”

As she firmly stated and frowned, the man, with a smirk on one side of his mouth, forcefully stuck the rose into Iora’s hair. It didn’t hurt, but it made her head shake slightly. Giving him a sideways glance, she saw him smiling, somewhat maliciously.

“You’re quite something.”

“Thank you.”

“You’ve been quite sharp-tongued yourself. I’m sure you’ve been called rude yourself here and there.”

“What nonsense. I still have a long way to go compared to you. I’m just a beginner in the art of sarcasm. I’m going to grow into it. Please look forward to it.”

“Oh really?”

“With your wit, would you be my sarcasm teacher? You must have lived without losing to anyone since you were young.”

“What? A sarcasm teacher?”

This time it was Vigros who burst into laughter. The laughter, neither too loud nor too soft, was deep and resonant, causing Iora to briefly close her eyes and savor the sound. If laughter had grades, this was undoubtedly SSS-grade.

She had to open her eyes to the touch of the man’s hand, which poked her cheek as if he didn’t quite appreciate her closed eyes.

He asked with a sparkle in his seemingly innocent eyes, “What’s a rich girl’s daughter like you doing in a place like this? Do you make it a habit to be out here in the middle of the night?”

His tone wasn’t polite, but it was what it was.

Iora pursed her lips. “I was feeling troubled, so I ended up walking here.”

“Well, this is your space and your moment I suppose.”

“Do you think so?”

Taking out the flower from her hair, she extended it to him again. When he questioned why she was giving him another gift, he laughed and reached out his hand.

The flower fell with a soft thud. One petal of the rose floated down like a feather, and she carefully picked it up and placed it back onto his palm.

As the gentle warmth brushed against her, Iora found herself thinking involuntarily.

Should I make that wish you spoke of, even now? But you probably wouldn’t remember…

“Hmm?”

“What?”

For a moment, she was startled at the timing of his response— like he had responded to her inner thoughts. Blinking rapidly and lifting her head, she found him waving his hand. Apparently, there were bugs around.

And Iora subtly grabbed onto the hem of his clothing—just in case he decided to run away. Her mind was in turmoil. It felt too good to be true that he had appeared before her so suddenly, when she had always planned to find him someday, and she was unsettled because she hadn’t prepared what to say.

‘My wish…I wish you would be on my side.’
