Chapter 113
“All done with your bath?”
When Sylvia just stood there, dazed and staring at him after washing up, he asked as if to check, then promptly scooped her up in his arms again.
As always, the way he gripped her midsection forced a short gasp out of her. The moment they returned to the bedroom, he immediately began tying her hands and feet once more.
She considered putting up a real fight this time, but she could already see how that would end and, reluctantly, let her limbs go slack. Sylvia recalled the monstrous form she’d seen five days ago.
‘A monster…’
She’d never encountered anything so vicious, so frighteningly alien in all her life. Technically, he didn’t look so different from a human, and his features were even more perfectly proportioned than most men’s.
But just meeting his gaze sent a shudder of pure violence through her, as if she might be ripped apart at any moment.
“Monster.”
Like he’d plucked the word straight from her mind, the man let it slip past his lips.
Sylvia flinched. She’d tried her best not to let anything show, but the monster seemed certain of what she was thinking, just from that tiny reaction. Feeling a sudden, pointless twinge of guilt, Sylvia avoided his eyes.
He was the one who had deceived, violated, and imprisoned her—yet for some reason, she felt sorry for him. She carefully met his resentful, smoldering gaze.
“……”
“Aren’t you going to apologize?”
“…What?”
It was the first time they’d spoken in five days. That alone was surprising, and when she heard his nonsense, she automatically responded.
The monster actually expected an apology from her. After all the horrible things he’d done over the past few months, he was acting like he was the real victim here.
“And why should I?”
Now was the time to push back, so Sylvia didn’t hold back her words.
Why on earth should she apologize to this monster? Especially after he’d nearly violated her in every possible way, even threatening to ruin her ability to even urinate. The sheer nerve, to act like the aggrieved party now.
“Why? You tried to stab me to death, didn’t you?”
“Well—”
“I was just trying to be good to you. I mean, I really was good to you, and what do I get for it? You try to skewer me with a knife! Do you know how much that hurt? Monsters have feelings too, you know. So go on, apologize. Right now.”
The logic was, in its way, flawless. Monsters apparently had hearts. For a moment, Sylvia regretted not aiming straight for his heart with her knife, but his shamelessness quickly erased any trace of guilt she might have had.
She owed this heartless monster absolutely nothing.
“I can’t do it sincerely, but if you just want to hear the words, I can fake it for you.”
She deliberately prodded at his pride, hoping he’d realize how absurd he was being. If he were truly the loving ‘husband’ he claimed to be, he wouldn’t try to punish her for talking back. The monster’s eyes shifted instantly at her cheeky reply.
…Just as she expected.
The instant she saw that look, she regretted provoking him—but at the same time, she felt oddly relieved. Sylvia could only watch helplessly as the massive man, freshly bathed, climbed onto her restrained body.
With her hands and feet bound, she was once again staring death in the face. He growled.
“Watch your mouth.”
He kneaded her chest so roughly it felt like he’d crush it, and Sylvia let out a muffled groan of pain. Thankfully, he didn’t try to hurt her any further.
Instead, the pressure gradually eased, and he lightly raked his fingernail over her n****e, choosing to tease her rather than hurt her. Sylvia found herself wondering genuinely how anyone could be so consistently, outrageously perverse.
“Haa…”
How could he look at her like this, after she’d tried to kill him? How could he look at her n*****s as if they were the most delicious fruit in the world, when they were just bits of flesh?
She didn’t feel even a flicker of desire. That was rare lately, but maybe it was because she was sure she was about to die. But this man—this monster—seemed to have no concept of self-control. Just seeing her was enough to make him aroused. He was always hard.
‘He used to restrain himself, but today, he’s completely lost it. Maybe if I beg him to stop, he’ll actually listen…?’
The monster liked her in his own twisted way. Even with things so completely wrong between them, it seemed he still didn’t truly want to hurt her. Since escape was impossible right now, her only hope was to keep him in a good mood and improve her chances.
Sylvia forced herself to relax, let her tense upper body go limp, and looked up at him with docile eyes—doing her best to show she had no intention of fighting anymore. She knew he wouldn’t be fooled, but maybe, just maybe, it would calm him a little.
After all, he was a simple-minded monster at heart.
