On the clear morning of April 1st, Crown Prince Myers ascended to the throne as Emperor.

Thunderous cheers from the crowd, dazzling multicolored fireworks painting the sky, and the applause of distinguished guests all mingled together in praise of Myers.

Amid the procession, he joyfully received the crown.

Originally, the crown should have been bestowed upon him by his father. But with his father dead and absent, the bishop placed the crown on Myers’ head in his stead.

Immediately after becoming Emperor, Myers issued a decree to the Duke. As agreed, the Duke, his wife, five attendants, and several knights were to form a task force to defeat the swamp’s leader monster.

Lancart readily accepted the imperial order. In just a few days, he had fully prepared to enter the swamp. The Duchess surprisingly did not follow him to the palace begging him to be persuaded to stay behind.

Emperor Myers, secretly hoping for that, instead waited boredly in the palace.

News arrived exactly on the date Myers had suggested—the Duke had set off on the mission.

Whispers and murmurs were quickly suppressed with overwhelming power. Those who criticized sending the still weak and unwell Duke into the swamp were rounded up by planted agents and brought to the palace.

Most were reprimanded for a few days then released; some were tortured nearly to death.

“If the Emperor says to do it, you do it. Who does that guy think he is, worrying about him and cursing me?”

Believing these words wholeheartedly, Myers turned his back and roughly fondled the full curves of a woman lying prone. The Duke must have already left the castle by now, ready to obey orders and march into the deadly swamp with his wife.

Weapons—spears, swords, arrows—laced with deadly poison were handed out generously to the Duke’s knights. The Duke was highly likely to return alive.

There were three leader monsters in Blavat. According to tortured monsters, the three were evenly matched, with the strongest residing in the western region.

If they could just subdue that one monster, the swamp monsters’ influence would weaken considerably, making it easier to reclaim territory.

To leave a deeper impression on the people now that he was Emperor, Myers knew he had to achieve remarkable feats. And what could be grander than wrestling territory from monsters?

“Aaah, aah…!”

“Hmm, if he comes back more broken than before… well, that would be interesting too.”

As always, the Emperor cared little whether the Duke lived or died.

But the Duke was surprisingly tight-lipped and skilled in swordsmanship, so whenever such a valuable trump card was needed, he was the first to come to mind.

If the Duke succeeded this time and returned, Myers might even regard him differently—as a precious brother, a trusted right hand. At the very least, he would spare his life.

This was the Duke’s first and last test. This mission would determine how useful and important he would become.

“Haah, ha!”

As he roughly thrust his rigid, spear-like member inside a woman, Myers suddenly wondered how the Duke had managed to persuade his wife to follow him into this mission.

When his waist movement weakened briefly from the question, the unknown dancer let out a sharp moan to distract him, and Myers grimaced as he grabbed her hair. Taking the moan as a melody, he eagerly penetrated deeper inside her.

Watching the woman’s pathetic attempts to raise her hips for every last drop of seed, he called a servant by pulling a string and instructed them to give her medicine.

Surprisingly, he was strict about contraception. He intended to produce only one heir. Nor did he resort to unpleasant acts of finishing outside. Whether she looked disappointed or not, he had already completely lost interest in her and just watched boredly as she was dragged away.

“Ha, I’m dying of curiosity.”

Thinking once again of the Duchess, the supreme Emperor wasted his afternoon idly.

Lancart’s method of persuading his wife was surprisingly simple.

He mentioned her family. Judging by her shy expression when reading the letter from her sister, it was clear her weakness was family.

The day he threatened her, Sylvia bared her teeth as if ready to kill him, and they argued for over an hour. But eventually, she herself swore to accompany him on the journey to the swamp.

From that day until the departure, Lancart did not share a bed with his wife, fearing she might strangle him in his sleep. Sylvia was deeply angry at him for this.

Their relationship seemed to cycle wildly between good and terrible, much like a normal couple. The monster Lancart secretly enjoyed these conflicts, knowing they’d eventually return to bickering amicably. He looked forward to that future.

“Wife, are you ready?”

Speaking gently behind his wife who didn’t even look at him, the surrounding knights exchanged glances between Sylvia and Lancart.
