Chapter 78
Kuinan smoothly changed the subject before Sylvia could realize something was wrong.
“Oh, really? Well, let’s go.”
He started walking off without even putting on his clothes. Sylvia quickly grabbed his forearm. When Lancart obediently turned to look at her, she couldn’t help but sigh in disbelief.
“You need to get dressed.”
“Oh, right. Hm, I forgot.”
After two awkward interjections, he bent down. Sylvia’s eyes involuntarily landed on his slack member—and she was startled.
It looked nothing like what she’d imagined. What on earth was she seeing? What was she even looking at right now?
“…”
“Hm? What are you staring at like that, pervert?”
Until now, she’d never really had a chance to get a proper look at Kuinan’s manhood. Sometimes there was too much going on, or Kuinan would cover her eyes himself, keeping it hidden.
Now, for the first time, Sylvia was seeing it up close. She wasn’t ignorant of male anatomy—she’d seen plenty of diagrams and read about it in books.
But… this?
“What is that?”
She couldn’t help but ask. Was it supposed to be ugly? This didn’t even fit in the category of ‘ugly’—it was just wrong. It didn’t even look like something that could be called a human p***s.
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
He pulled his underwear up slowly, stuffing himself inside. Even as he tried to hide it, the dark blue head peeked out near his navel. The color alone was bizarre—almost like dead flesh—but the way it swelled didn’t seem lifeless at all.
As Sylvia stared again in disbelief, Kuinan, embarrassed, quickly grabbed and stuffed it into his underwear, but it still bulged out, as big as two fists pressed together.
“Why are you staring? You’re making me self-conscious.”
“What… happened to you? How could it end up like that?”
She remembered he’d called it a complex of his. But Sylvia couldn’t help but ask directly.
They’d said his personality changed after being tortured by monsters, and now she saw—maybe that was why his body and personality had both changed so drastically. She suddenly felt a sharp pound in her heart.
“Ah…”
“Is it really that bad? Honestly, I didn’t think it was so hideous…”
He looked up at her, sullenly. He made no effort to shrink back or hide it, showing her its monstrous form with a certain defiance.
Off in the distance, some monsters who’d been watching the standoff quickly averted their eyes, as if they’d seen something they shouldn’t.
“Well…”
How could anyone say it wasn’t hideous? Even compared to other monsters, it seemed pretty horrific. Sylvia, failing to control her expression, changed the subject, telling her dejected husband to at least put his clothes on properly.
A brief silence fell, and then they started walking again.
Their feet still sank into the earth with every step, but strangely enough, Sylvia found it much easier to move than before. Even in the thick mist, her husband seemed to have no trouble finding the way. He guided her confidently, holding her hand tightly whenever she hesitated.
“From here on, you need to be careful.”
Even as Sylvia tried to focus, her mind kept flashing back to the grotesque sight of her husband’s p***s she’d just witnessed. She tried to steady herself and listened for his voice.
“Do you see that ridge up ahead?”
It took her a moment to make out the shape, even after he pointed it out through the fog.
It wasn’t much of a mountain—barely even a hill. The slopes curved gently on either side, but the front was an abrupt cliff. The spot where the shadow of the swamp met the mountain, her husband explained matter-of-factly, was the lair of the boss monster.
How did this man know that?
As she looked at him, puzzled, danger suddenly appeared.
An ominous howl echoed—at first, it sounded like just another monster passing by, but it was getting closer. The monsters who had oddly ignored them until now had finally decided to attack.
Sylvia tensed up, clutching her only weapon—a dagger—while her husband, as usual, just looked nonchalant.
It seemed his trauma lay only in his appearance, not in the monsters themselves.
