Chapter 115
* * *
“Your Highness the First Prince, it’s Morris. May I enter?”
The day after the Maw of the Lekan Forest opened.
When the chill of dawn hung thick over the woods, Morris came to the First Prince’s tent.
Euclid silently looked down at Sylaria, who was asleep in his arms.
The union that had begun yesterday for purification continued until she cried and begged him to stop.
While he was pinned beneath Sylaria, unable to move, he literally licked her from head to toe just as he had planned.
Even when Sylaria panicked and said it was too dirty, he became aroused as he licked even her toes.
Even after the union for purification turned into obscene and e****c s*x, Euclid did not let her go.
It was strange.
Why did his body burn up whenever he saw Sylaria?
Whenever he was in front of her, he felt like a dog in heat.
“Your Highness?”
Morris’s voice came again from outside the tent. Euclid finally tore his gaze away and rose to his feet.
He pulled the blanket up to Sylaria’s neck, then loosely threw on a robe and stepped outside the tent.
The moment Morris saw the First Prince, he bowed deeply.
Euclid walked a short distance away from the tent so their voices wouldn’t disturb Sylaria’s sleep, and only then did he speak.
“Report.”
“There were thirty-two corpses of the monsters you handled yesterday. We set the base camp over there, beside the oak tree far from the marshland.”
“Well done. What about Aren? Has he arrived at the forest?”
“Not yet. I learned that he set out traveling by carriage.”
“By carriage?”
Hearing what Morris reported, Euclid let out a short laugh. By carriage, huh.
Even Sylaria had volunteered to ride a horse for this competition.
Yet the pampered Second Prince seemed too busy looking after his own comfort even with the Crown Prince’s position on the line.
“If he hasn’t arrived by now, then he’ll reach us only by tomorrow. What a pity. With a carriage, all the time will be eaten up just by traveling.”
“By the time he arrives, there won’t be a single monster left in the Lekan Forest.”
“Haven’t they already disappeared?”
Euclid spoke sharply as he looked around.
After yesterday’s Maw incident, and after he swept through and annihilated the monsters, there wasn’t a single trace of them. At this rate, they could camp a little longer to monitor the situation and then withdraw.
“Thirty two bodies. Not a bad score.”
Euclid grinned.
Since the Lekan Forest had grown sparse with monsters, he had thought catching even ten would be considered doing well. But the Maw had opened at just the right time, letting him gain far more than expected.
In the past, the opening of a Maw would have been a disaster.
A Maw of the size that appeared yesterday would have turned the Lekan Forest into a forest of death.
But now, it was different.
Because beside Euclid stood Sylaria, his Purifier.
Unlike before, when he restrained himself out of fear of losing control, Euclid used his divine power as much as he wished.
Thanks to the divine power he poured out, the Maw dissipated far too easily, and the monsters could be exterminated as well.
It was all thanks to Sylaria.
Euclid looked warmly toward the tent where his Purifier lay.
Seeing his gaze, Morris also smiled.
“Her presence alone is something to be thanked endlessly. How could someone like Lady Sylaria appear before Your Highness?”
“It must be fate.”
Unusually, Euclid spoke openly to Morris about what was in his heart.
Until now, he had always been a cold and sharp superior to his officers and subordinates, like a well forged blade.
But after meeting Sylaria and regaining some ease, he began to show a more human side.
And that only increased the loyalty of those who followed the Imperial Prince.
“I will never let Sylaria go.”
Morris blinked at the prince’s possessive declaration.
But he soon returned to a calm expression and bowed. He supported it wholeheartedly.
As long as Euclid did not let Sylaria go, and as long as the two remained together.
Those who served the First Prince would have nothing to fear.
