Craving for more? Read the COMPLETE novel on ko-fi!

Euclid, who was standing with one foot pressed on Arendtert’s shoulder, narrowed his eyes. He stared intently at the woman emerging from the darkness, then tilted his head slightly.

“Sylaria…?”

“Yes, that’s right. It’s me.”

“Come here.”

Euclid raised one hand and gestured to her. When Sylaria hesitated, he offered a gentle smile.

“You’re my Purifier. I’ll protect you. Don’t worry, come.”

At his words, Sylaria slowly stepped forward. Once she reached the fireplace, he gave her a slow once-over, from head to toe.

“My cheek still stings. Did this bastard hit you again?”

“Yes.”

“And besides that, did he do anything else?”

“He did, but…”

“AAAAAARGH!”

The moment Sylaria answered, Euclid pressed down harder with the foot crushing Arendtert’s shoulder.

Blood spurted again from the wound as Arendtert writhed in pain. But Euclid ignored his younger brother’s screams and continued calmly.

“What did he do?”

“…That is—”

“It’s alright. Tell me. In detail.”

“He tried to kiss me. And he… buried his face in my chest…”

“GAHH! AAAAARGH! F**k! DAMN IT!”

Euclid, still with a composed expression, listened to Sylaria’s words while continuing to torture Arendtert.

Even as his half-brother screamed obscenities, he blinked slowly as if he hadn’t heard a thing.

“And?”

“That’s all.”

“Hmm…”

Euclid narrowed his eyes and looked at Sylaria. Then he gently brushed the disheveled strands of her hair aside and whispered,

“What should I do to him? Should I kill him?”

“……”

“Just say the word. I’ll do whatever you want.”

Sylaria looked down at Arendtert, who was sprawled on the floor in a pitiful state. His eyes had lost focus, his mouth hung open, and he was panting hard. The blood loss must’ve affected his consciousness.

“If you kill him here, won’t that put you in trouble?”

“Well, that’s true.”

Euclid admitted readily. This was the First Prince’s palace, his own bedchamber, no less. If the Second Prince were found dead here, how would the Empress react?

Cressida was deeply obsessed with her son. More precisely, she longed to hold on to eternal power through him.

If her most important tool were to die, she would never let it go.

She would undoubtedly punish Euclid as harshly in return.

Given her temperament, it was highly likely Euclid would be sentenced to death for fratricide.

At the very least, he would be exiled to some remote frontier.

Sylaria wanted revenge against Arendtert. But not at the cost of Euclid’s life.

More than anything, this wasn’t the kind of revenge she wanted.

In her previous life, Arendtert had been a highly esteemed Crown Prince. Everyone looked up to him. She had, too.

That’s why she wanted to take everything away from him.

She would destroy his honor, drag him into ruin, and make him taste pure humiliation.

She would not let him die so easily.

“Then don’t kill him.”

“Got it.”

Euclid stepped off him with a hint of regret. Then he pulled on a bell cord to summon the attendants.

“You called for— Hiiek! Your Highness!”

“Get rid of him.”

The attendants who rushed in recoiled at the sight of the bleeding Second Prince lying on the floor.

But as Euclid issued his order in a calm, detached tone, they quickly composed themselves and moved to support him. Even the attendants of the First Prince’s palace were clearly no ordinary people.

“The Second Prince broke into my bedchamber and tried to defile my fiancée. His sister-in-law, no less. If he wants to be the subject of a scandal, he can go cry to his mother about it.”

Euclid warned Arendtert coldly. Arendtert, barely able to stand with the help of the attendants, gasped harshly for air.

“I’ll never… forget today’s humiliation.”

“Cut the crap and get lost.”

Euclid sneered as he dismissed Arendtert. Once their conversation was over, the attendants closed the door and disappeared with him.

As the situation was swiftly resolved, Sylaria swallowed dryly. Now that Arendtert was gone, she finally felt herself returning to her senses.

She hadn’t realized it, but just being in the same space as him had made her incredibly tense.

Well… that was only natural.

He had tried to r**e her, after all.
