So he had to do something, no matter what. Having lost his Purifier, his only option was to go to the temple and receive purification through holy water. The problem was that he didn’t have the time to spare.

Still, even if he had to ride through the night, he would have to make it happen.

“Your Highness! I’ve brought the physician.”

It was while Arendtert was gauging his schedule in his head. The door opened and Lionel entered. The physician who had come with him opened his medical bag and busily examined the wound.

The physician applied medicine to Arendtert’s shoulder, wrapped it in bandages, then spoke.

“Fortunately, the wound isn’t severe, despite the bleeding. If you apply this ointment and change the bandages daily, it will be fine.”

“Do I need any other treatment?”

“No, just apply the ointment consistently.”

“I understand.”

“Then, if you’ll excuse me…”

Beyond the bowing physician, Arendtert gave Lionel a subtle signal with his eyes. Catching the signal, Lionel drew the longsword at his waist.

When the blade scraped against the scabbard, the startled physician looked up, only for Lionel’s sword to slice across his neck.

“…!”

The physician died without even managing a scream. Arendtert gazed coldly at the body sprawled on the floor and said.

“Even a discreet man is no match for one who has no mouth at all.”

“Wise words, Your Highness.”

“This man infiltrated and tried to harm me. This wound on my shoulder was caused by him. You worked hard quickly dealing with the assassin, Lionel.”

Arendtert twisted the truth, pinning crimes on an innocent physician, and gave a chilling smile. Lionel bowed his head, readily accepting his superior’s explanation as if it neatly filled in the missing puzzle pieces.

“Take care of the corpse.”

Finishing his words, Arendtert rose and headed toward the bed. Despite the body lying nearby, he leisurely lay down, closed his eyes, and took his rest.

“Mm…”

Sylaria let out a small groan. As soon as she regained consciousness, her whole body ached. Though she had woken from sleep, she was in so much pain she couldn’t even get up.

As she writhed weakly on the bed, she heard rustling beside her. Then she felt a large, warm hand massaging her arm. Though clumsy, the touch was full of sincerity, and Sylaria lifted her heavy eyelids.

“…What are you doing?”

“You’re awake?”

Euclid, who had been massaging Sylaria, gave her an awkward smile. When she grabbed at her throat and coughed, he quickly stood and brought her water.

“Drink slowly.”

Euclid helped support Sylaria so she could drink. She felt the cool water slide down her throat and spread throughout her body.

“Did I sleep for a long time?”

After drinking and clearing her throat, Sylaria asked. From the bright sunlight streaming through the window beside the bedchamber, it seemed to already be midday. Euclid, setting aside the glass, gave a small shrug.

“A little?”

“How little is a little?”

“About two days?”

“What?!”

At the unexpected answer, Sylaria sprang up in shock. But the sudden motion sent aches through her waist and thighs.

“Ow…”

“Careful, careful.”

“Did two whole days really pass? You’re not joking?”

“You’re quite frail. Do you remember fainting midway?”

At Euclid’s question, Sylaria blinked slowly. Their first night together had been mercilessly long. Euclid hadn’t let her go until dawn broke.

In the end, she had begged him in tears to stop, but even then, her body steeped in pleasure had faithfully responded to him.

She remembered clearly up to the point where he brought her to her fourth climax inside her. Beyond that, nothing.

“I fainted?”

Euclid only gave her a troubled smile. With what little strength she could muster, Sylaria struck him with her hand.

“How could you keep going until I collapsed?!”

Euclid quietly accepted her blow, which didn’t hurt at all, and burst into laughter. His shoulders shook as he laughed heartily, then he caught her hand and spoke.

“No, Sylaria. You’re misunderstanding.”

“What do you mean, misunderstanding?”

“Even after you fainted… I went one more round. Sorry.”

At his outrageous confession, Sylaria’s jaw dropped.
