“That, well… I only just became a prince’s consort, and! Aren left for campaign in such a rush that he forgot to assign me ladies-in-waiting.”

“I suppose that could happen. Euclid even personally introduced my ladies-in-waiting to me. Will Aren do the same for you?”

“Of course! Aren’s absolutely crazy about me!”

“Then, since you’re here, show me your ring. If he’s so besotted, surely he proposed with something spectacular?”

“A… A ring?”

“Yes, a ring. Your wedding ring.”

At Sylaria’s request, Grizelle’s face flushed bright red. She quickly hid her hands behind her back and bit her lip.

“Well, I…”

“What is it? Don’t tell me the Aren who supposedly cherishes you so much proposed with no ring? Left you here alone without attendants and then just ran off?”

“No!”

Grizelle shouted and jumped to her feet, breathing hard and clenching her fists.

“The ring’s too big, so I took it off for a bit! Aren loves me! To Aren, there’s only me!”

“Is that so…?”

“Sylaria.”

Just as Sylaria was savoring Grizelle’s flustered reaction, the door opened and a low, deep male voice filled the room. She turned her head to see who had come, but a large hand suddenly cupped her cheek.

“I missed you.”

Euclid, face drawn with exhaustion, whispered softly before kissing her. He didn’t care that others were present. He pressed his lips to hers with hungry urgency.

Sylaria’s eyes widened, and she tried to push him away, startled. But he was relentless, sucking at her tongue, sweeping the inside of her mouth, demanding her.

Euclid kissed her so single-mindedly that Grizelle, sitting across the room, flushed deep crimson in embarrassment.

Cora and the ladies-in-waiting froze, then hastily lowered their gazes to the floor. Yet the intimate sound of the two kissing—tongues tangling—filled the room unavoidably.

“…Now I can breathe again.”

Euclid finally lifted his face from hers and murmured under his breath. Only then did Sylaria realize how drained he was, how much divine power he must have spent.

For the purification to have been so urgent, that he would ignore the presence of guests just to kiss her first…

“Did you really miss me?”

“Do you even need to ask? I thought I’d go mad wanting to see you.”

Euclid returned to the sofa and sat, pulling her into his arms. His gaze seemed to see no one but her.

“The nobles kept me tied up and wouldn’t let me go. I felt like I was burning alive.”

“I waited for you too.”

“Really? How much?”

Amused by her answer, Euclid leaned in again, eyes fixed on her. At that moment, Grizelle coughed loudly.

“Hmm! Ahem, ahem!”

Interrupted by the pointed noise, Euclid turned his head at last and looked at Grizelle. His brows drew together.

“And why is she here?”

“I, I am the Second Prince’s consort—”

“Leave.”

Grizelle stammered out the start of her title, but Euclid cut her off in one sharp word. At the blunt order to get out, her mouth fell open. Euclid even waved a hand, shooing her like one would a nuisance.

“Unless you’re some kind of voyeur, get out.”

“…!”

Struck speechless, Grizelle bolted to her feet and hurried out of the room. Behind her, Cora and the maids also slipped away in haste.

When the room was finally empty save for the two of them, Euclid turned Sylaria’s face back toward him and kissed her again. This time, it was slower, deeper, more consuming. He kissed her until she sank long and loose onto the sofa beneath him, and then he climbed over her, fingers working at the ribbons of her bodice.

“Haa… Sylaria…”

His voice sank low and rough, enough to make heat pool between her thighs. Sylaria looked up at him with breathless, hazy eyes.

“Euclid…”

Their gazes tangled in the air as Euclid dipped his head closer, fumbling urgently with the buckle of his trousers.

When his hand, holding his hardened length, slid beneath the layers of her skirts, Sylaria’s eyes flew wide.
