Chapter 29
Yet he shook his head firmly.
“Ah, fine then…”
Her shoulders slumped as if she were genuinely disappointed, and though it bothered him, he was just grateful she wasn’t pushing her stubbornness any further, making it harder for him to refuse.
“Right. So let’s leave it at that and get out of here now.”
Yes, he was grateful. Until he heard that small mutter.
“Then I guess I’ll have to find someone else… What a waste.”
“…What?!”
Ronius’s voice rose without him realizing it.
“Huh? What is it?”
Her face was perfectly calm again.
“What did you just say?”
“I said I’ll have to find someone else now.”
“……”
“It’s still a shame, though. You were perfect. Your body is so upright, and big… and pretty. Your butt looks firm too.”
His eyes twitched violently. The subtle gaze scanning his body made his jaw clench and unclench. He felt even angrier that his own body was dutifully reacting even to that kind of look.
“Besides, you’re a knight, right? I always thought you were just a harmless young master.”
A knight?
He had only mentioned it in passing earlier when she seemed interested in his uniform while he was hurriedly getting dressed…
‘Why a knight?’
Come to think of it, she did say something about it being ‘fortunate’ back then…
He shot her a questioning look.
“Knights are all equally perverted, which is great…”
Having no way of knowing what kind of books she had devoured or what fantasies she had entertained to pass the time, Ronius was stunned by her innocently delivered remark.
Faced with this first-of-its-kind misunderstanding, he couldn’t help but doubt his own ears.
Knights were, by definition, noble and honorable individuals. That was the common perception of knights, and as such, they were quite accustomed to universal praise.
Who in the world would make such an absurd assessment of knights?
He had never heard such a thing before, and likely never would again.
What kind of absurd fantasies were unfolding in that mind of hers? Her eyes shone as if they held stars.
“But, you!”
Suddenly, her sharp, piercing glare made Ronius flinch and meet her gaze.
“You! You became a knight, right? Having such a fine sword and not using it is a waste, a total waste.”
You know? she asked, then looked down at his lower half and licked her upper lip.
That blatant visual cue quickly made him realize exactly which “sword” she was referring to.
Under her fervent gaze, a warm heat rose to his core. No matter how hard he tried not to, impure thoughts about her kept sprouting and growing wildly.
He summoned the peak of his patience, focusing his energy into his dantian.
“Why are you really like this?”
And he asked her sincerely. Whatever she had been through, she had changed drastically. Of course, he had changed too. But Jeina…
“Like what? Your d**k is literally the ultimate sword—the kind those barren land folks would pay a fortune for and still not get. You already have the best sword right there…”
She glanced at the actual sword sheathed at his hip and continued.
“Do you even need that? In a pinch, you could just swing your c**k around and scare everyone off.”
Jeina giggled as if the mere thought delighted her.
The back of his neck tightened, and he felt a headache coming on.
‘Even at the moment she’s about to set foot back into the world, how can all her focus be down there…?’
As he was thinking that, Jeina let out a genuinely disappointed, heavy sigh.
“Ha……”
“What, now?”
“Nothing. Well, if you won’t do it, Roni, I suppose I can just pick a new knight with a sturdy c**k… It’s fine.”
“……”
“Those guys standing behind you earlier. They’re knights too, right? How about one of them?”
The way she casually changed the subject and brought it up so nonchalantly forced Ronius to undergo another rapid shift in his emotions.
An inexplicable irritation twisted inside him.
It was probably because those bastards were all thoroughly unsatisfactory.
For a moment, a murderous flame ignited in his eyes.
Even though he knew he had no right to feel this way…
“They’re all…”
“All?”
“They’re all… worse than me.”
He couldn’t stand the thought of her asking that question to other guys, of those bastards who didn’t even know her properly crowding around her.
In front of her, he lost his reason this easily and made an emotional decision.
The tips of his ears burned a bright red.
