Chapter 19
The damp fabric clung to her c******s, shaking fiercely from side to side, back and forth. Katie forcefully shook her head, trapped by the unbearable pleasure.
“Ahh! Ah! Aahh!”
“You’ll hurt yourself if you keep that up, Katie.”
Helion moistened his parched lips with his tongue as he spoke. Yet, even as he said that, he never released his hand.
Eventually, Katie reached a complete climax, her eyes locked with his.
“Aauuungh!”
It felt as though a bomb had exploded inside her body. A strange shock surged up her spine, slammed into her brain, and then her vision flashed white.
Katie burst into tears at the extreme pleasure she was experiencing for the first time in her life.
“Heeuk…!”
Finally, the world, which had been only white, slowly regained its original colors.
Katie panted as if she had run dozens of laps around a track, her body utterly limp. The bed felt like it was sucking her in. It was a terrifying sense of exhaustion.
Only then did Helion release the hand that had been gripping her cheek.
“Well done.”
His touch, wiping away the tear-stained corners of her eyes as if she had suffered, was inexplicably gentle. Katie’s body still trembled with unrecovered emotions. Helion chuckled softly, seemingly amused by her state, and lightly tapped her lower belly, which was twitching as if in a spasm.
It was a touch like a lullaby for a child to sleep. Katie blinked her heavy, tear-soaked eyelashes.
“I… I need to go… to the dormitory.”
“After all the service I just rendered, that’s what you say? There’s no need to be so wary. Just rest a bit.”
“No. I have to go now…”
Her mumbling lips slowly slackened. Katie instinctively knew her body had reached its limit.
It was all because of the heat. Even though she had taken the medicine yesterday, her stomach had churned, preventing her from getting proper sleep. On top of that, she had fought with Arnin’s group and then endured whatever strange acts Helion had subjected her to, acts she couldn’t even define.
I shouldn’t fall asleep here. Falling asleep in front of an enemy is a fatal mistake even a newborn beast-person wouldn’t make…
But her thoughts couldn’t continue. To the rhythmic tapping on her belly, Katie drifted into a deep sleep, as if someone had knocked her out.
The intense heat that felt like it would burn her body away. What followed that scorching intensity was a deep, sweet slumber.

The dream Katie had was always the same.
‘If I had let that boy die that day, would the war never have happened?’
This lingering question in Katie’s heart always took her back to being an eight-year-old child.
In her dream, she turned away from the threatened young Helion and walked past him. And then, Helion was killed by a knight of his own empire.
“The Empire’s First Prince, who went as an envoy to the Kingdom, has been murdered! This is a declaration of war from the Kingdom to the Empire!”
The Empire roared in fury, but as it was the assassination of a royal, the investigation was thorough.
The ending was a happy one for the Kingdom. It was revealed that Helion had been murdered by someone from the Empire, freeing the Kingdom from the responsibility of war.
Yet, even in this dream, Katie could not be happy. The golden eyes, devoid of life, relentlessly tormented her with their resentment.
“Why didn’t you save me?”
The dead Helion’s eyes followed her relentlessly until the very end of the dream.
[Why? Why? Why?]
A single word repeated, sending shivers down her entire body.
No. Stop it. If I saved you, countless people would die.
[Why did you leave me to die?]
You’re the one who betrayed me! I saved your life, and you went to the Empire and stayed silent!
Even in the dream she created herself, Katie couldn’t forgive Helion. He knew who had threatened him, yet he didn’t correct that wrong.
A liar. A schemer who used her goodwill for political reasons. A murderer who drove countless people to their deaths.
But in this dream, to this Helion, she was the murderer who let him die.
Helion’s golden eyes grew darker and darker. The small child’s body seemed to grow, and soon it was the form of an adult, much taller than her.
[Why did you turn away from me, Kitty?]
The man’s hand reached out and gripped her neck. Her breath hitched. Katie thrashed desperately in the face of death’s fear. But the man’s hand only tightened around her throat.
His golden eyes stared at her, piercing through her. Just like when he had looked down at her, whimpering beneath him.
At that moment, Katie woke up from her dream.
