Chapter 27
I shouldn’t be doing this with her.
He never meant for their nights together to be anything but torture and humiliation for her. There was no intention of pleasure.
Unbearable Alpha pheromones always torment Omegas. He thought she’d be no different. But last night, Marie Alphrose was…
‘Haah, Your Highness!’
That shameless Omega, his courtesan, was far too happy. She cried and cried in pleasure, spreading her legs wide, swallowing and tightening around his throbbing Alpha cxck…
Damn it.
For the first time in years, he slept soundly.
Because of her.
Thanks to her.
Finding peace in the arms of his enemy.
“Your Highness? Are you alright?”
“……”
His emotions stirred his pheromones wildly. The knights nearby immediately tensed, sensing the shift in the atmosphere.
One of them, the Crown Prince’s trusted guard captain, asked carefully. Russell grimaced and pressed his chin into his hand. Imagining such a scene while walking down the palace hall in broad daylight was unforgivable to someone like Russell.
Am I really losing my mind?
Was it a mistake to take her in?
“That woman…”
“I already told the maids. Are you upset because of her? If her pheromones bother you, I can have them dealt with.”
“……”
At dawn, Russell left his chamber. The sight of her, marked by his hands and traces, pricked at him like thorns.
Her reddened, troubled eyes, and yet that calm, natural Omega pheromone she still gave off — it was unbearable to feel it any longer.
No, maybe it was the creeping feeling that soon he’d be spreading those legs and plunging inside her again.
“That’s enough.”
Despite his loyalty, the captain of the knights, rather oblivious, tried to soothe his lord’s mood by sharing what he had overheard from the maids.
They said the woman was shameless, stubborn even. Yet sometimes she wore such a sorrowful face it made them feel like the cruel villains for their harsh words. She was so annoyingly gentle that they couldn’t tell if she was nobility or a commoner’s daughter.
Was that a compliment, though?
The captain thought so. Then, remembering something, he added cheerfully:
“To add insult to injury, they say her eyes are also golden, and that’s why everyone around her is so resentful and unhappy with her.”
The captain assumed hearing that his hated enemy was being mistreated would please his lord. But the Crown Prince slowly turned to look at him, and when their eyes met, the captain’s blood ran cold.
‘W–why is he looking at me like that?’
The gaze was terrifying, bone-chilling. Then came a voice, like a low scratch down his throat:
“They look nothing alike.”
“Y-Yes, of course, Your Highness!”
“Don’t ever say something like that again. Understood?”
“Uh–understood!”
Argh! The captain of the knights inwardly groaned. He had been tactless. Who in their right mind would be pleased to hear that their long-lost, dearly parted fiancée resembled their mortal enemy?
Resolving to steer clear of that topic in the future, the captain nodded furiously. Not just him — every knight and attendant within earshot had the same thought.
Ah, so His Highness wasn’t satisfied last night. Then perhaps that Omega deserves a bit more discipline. If she couldn’t even please him properly, what else could she be good for?
They had no idea what thoughts were actually stirring in the Crown Prince’s mind. This, truly, was twisted loyalty at its finest.
