The other priests, awkwardly observing the situation, withdrew their hands from Jaha’s body.

The Pope struggled to process the shock. Proud of his reasonably impressive endowment, he’d never been insulted like this in his life. It was something he’d quietly taken pride in, even if he hadn’t flaunted it openly.

“Your Holiness!”

A nearby priest hastily steadied the staggering Pope.

“I-I’m fine.”

Regaining his composure, the Pope adjusted his trousers and cleared his throat to reset the mood.

“Ahem! Let us begin the ritual.”

“Y-Yes, understood.”

“Indeed. Let’s end the jest here.”

They’d never intended to take things too far—just enough to toy with her without the Emperor noticing. As if nothing had happened, they encircled Jaha and began the ritual.

Led by the Pope, an immense surge of divine power poured from the priests into Jaha. Bathed in the radiant energy, she looked as though she were receiving a baptism of light. It was a sacred spectacle, unbelievable as the work of those who’d just committed such debauchery.

Soon, Jaha’s body levitated into the air.

Yoo Jaha opened her eyes to find herself in an unfathomable place.

Endless white pillars rose in a perfect circle around her, and the sky was drowned in a light so blinding it hurt to look. It was eerily silent.

Her mind was terrifyingly clear. Sometimes, when she focused deeply, it felt as if someone had scrubbed her thoughts clean—leaving her mind so pristine she could absorb anything. Now was exactly such a moment.

A state beyond peak condition. The kind of trance one might stumble into when consumed by absolute immersion.

With the sharpest clarity she’d ever experienced in this world, Jaha thought:

This isn’t reality.

She didn’t understand the mechanics, but she knew—her consciousness had been pulled into a realm unreachable by ordinary means.

She remembered stepping into the temple with the Emperor. The priests chanting strange prayers. Then, a flood of blinding white light enveloping her body.

In a world where magic existed, there was no reason to doubt divine power. Or the existence of gods.

“Send me back.”

—You’ve already been ejected from your world.

A voice, neither male nor female, neither old nor young, echoed through the void.

There was no visible source, but Jaha wasn’t startled. She didn’t even have the energy to be. Her body and mind had long gone limp, like waterlogged cotton. Only one will remained.

“I want to go back.”

To Earth. To where she originally belonged.

—Had the force of your world keeping you in place been stronger than this world’s pull, the outcome would have been different. This is providence.

Jaha recalled the fundamental forces of nature. To be precise, electromagnetism and gravity.

She wasn’t sure if it was a perfectly fitting analogy, but she roughly understood it like this: If other people were Post-it notes firmly stuck to a bulletin board with intact adhesive, then Jaha was a Post-it note whose glue had expired, causing it to fall to the floor. The electromagnetic force that had kept her on Earth had weakened, unable to overcome this world’s gravitational pull.

As if peering into Jaha’s mind, an enigmatic voice whispered:

—Yes. Let me explain it this way. You were one of many Post-it notes stuck to the bulletin board in a classroom called Earth. Unfortunately, you were born with weak adhesive, so you fell off too soon. Normally, a janitor should’ve found you lying on the classroom floor and thrown you into the trash. But you, against all odds, slipped through a thin gap in the wooden floor and fell into the classroom below. For simplicity’s sake, let’s assume there’s no cement or concrete.

The mysterious voice sounded a little excited.

—After falling into the lower classroom, you luckily collided with an object before hitting the ground. The new electromagnetic force generated from that impact is what’s holding you firmly in place now. Do you realize just how close to a miracle that probability is?

Jaha stood blankly, listening to the sudden flood of information. She had thought she was exhausted beyond care, letting go of most things—but apparently, she wasn’t yet at a level where she could remain detached upon hearing such words. For a moment, her mind went blank.

So, to summarize: Yoo Jaha was inherently short-lived, and by all rights, she should have died on Earth—but by sheer luck, she slipped through a dimensional rift into another world. And thanks to the frictional force generated by colliding with someone in this world, she’s barely managing to cling to life?
