Chapter 150
‘There’s no plausibility.’
It might sound absurd to dissect human emotions like the structure of a story. Unlike novels, which require a coherent narrative, real life sometimes makes people fall for others without any clear reason.
It wouldn’t be all that strange if a man named Rikanan was drawn to Yoo Jaha without any particular trigger. But still…
‘It doesn’t feel refreshing.’
How should she put it? Persistent, perhaps. There was an inexplicable stickiness to it that was hard to define…
Maybe it was just her imagination—the suffocating, dense intensity she occasionally sensed from him.
Returning to her room, Jaha checked the clock. There were still about thirty minutes left before Madame Marie, her tutor, would arrive.
Lying on the bed, Jaha’s hand slowly trailed down between her legs. The servants wouldn’t enter unless she called for them. There was no reason to hesitate. As her fingertips gently rolled over the sensitive bud, a warm pleasure rose to her brain.
“Hah, ah…”
Maybe it was because this world was so dull compared to Earth, overflowing with entertainment. Nothing else came to mind. No computers, no television, no cell phones, no games, no friends—there was nothing else to do but this.
Tensing her hips and tightening her lower abdomen, it didn’t take long for heat to spread through her body, accompanied by a tingling pleasure. Yet, there was no explosive, shattering sensation.
Gritting her teeth, Jaha stretched her toes. Just a little more, a little more…
“Ngh, ugh…”
After struggling for a while, the usual thin, fleeting climax arrived. She reached the edge, but it was an unsatisfying, ambiguous end.
Jaha pressed her flushed cheek into the pillow, catching her breath.
What she wanted wasn’t this dull, listless pleasure—but something overwhelming, violent even, like a tidal wave. A rapture so intense it would make her vision blur and her mind go blank. A savage ecstasy she’d never experienced before, one her entire body craved.
If she could just release it all in one go, she might not do this again for a while. But since it never fully satisfied her, it only left her wanting more. That was probably why what started as once every two days had now become two or three times a day.
While doing it, she naturally recalled Rikanan’s figure as he loomed in the bedroom, the sensation of being caught in his arms when she nearly fell the other day, and the scent that clung to him.
The large hand that cradled the back of her head, the strength of the arm supporting her waist, the firm chest pressed against her cheek, that cool yet shadowy fragrance.
In this world without the internet, it wasn’t easy to find stimulation more exciting than that.
“Might as well…”
If he outright asked her to sleep with him, she might pretend to resist but eventually give in.
Frustrated, Jaha entertained the thought for a moment before shaking her head.
No, that wasn’t it.
If Rikanan really made a move, she’d probably either panic and run or—out of obligation for all he’d done for her—reluctantly agree, only to end up disappointed in him.
If he was serious about pursuing her, then his current approach was the right one. Yoo Jaha was a coward, distrustful, a walking contradiction—full of desire yet conservative in her thinking.
“In a way, it’s like he knows me too well.”
A sudden suspicion flickered in her mind, and Jaha let out a hollow laugh.
“No, that’s impossible.”
Since when has Rikanan seen Yoo Jaha enough to know her well?
After finishing cleaning up and waiting, Madame Marie arrived. As the weather was nice, following Madame Marie’s suggestion to go outside, today’s lesson was held outdoors.
“Whenever I see it, it’s a beautiful garden.”
While drinking tea, Madame Marie didn’t hide her admiration. It was a rare moment when Madame Marie, who always showed restraint, expressed her emotions.
“I’ve never seen such an ideal garden before.”
Jaha, tearing her eyes away from Madame Marie who was happy like a girl dreaming, turned her gaze to the garden.
Is it really that great?
I understand it’s excellent landscaping, but honestly, that’s all.
They say you see things according to what you know. It was impossible for Jaha, who hasn’t enjoyed a lifetime of aesthetics, to match the discerning eye of nobility overnight.
Anyway, in this world, it seems they gauge the homeowner’s aesthetic sense through the garden, and judging by Madame Marie’s reaction, Rikanan appears to be at an exceptionally outstanding level.
But isn’t landscaping the gardener’s job? No, since it’s the homeowner’s role to request this and that, ultimately the homeowner’s eye is what matters, right?
“Isn’t the imperial palace’s landscaping more impressive?”
At Jaha’s question, Madame Marie paused briefly before cautiously opening her mouth.
“The imperial gardens are majestic. Many people return deeply impressed.”
She couldn’t say it outright, but the meaning was that this place is better.
Jaha looked around with a somewhat renewed feeling. To think landscaping here surpasses even the imperial palace’s, which must have been designed by the greatest aestheticians. She grew curious again about Rikanan’s background. But what actually came out of her mouth was a completely different question.
“Madame, you’ve seen His Majesty the Emperor before?”
“That’s right.”
“What kind of person is His Majesty the Emperor?”
