Did her eyes betray her thoughts? His lips curled into a smirk. Those beautiful red lips glistened wetly, and Jaha stubbornly avoided thinking about why.

“Why are you looking at me with those damp eyes? Like you want something.”

His feigned ignorance was infuriating. She glared, cheeks burning.

“You know.”

“I’m not a mind reader. If you don’t tell me, I won’t know, Jaha.”

He was playing dumb. He’d make her say it outright.

It’s not like I’ll die if I don’t. Do I really have to? Just say it?

Torn between pride and need, rationality and instinct, she bit her lip before whispering in a voice barely audible:

“…Do it.”

“Do what, exactly?”

“Ugh, seriously!”

When she snapped, he laughed under his breath.

“Sorry. You’re just too cute when flustered.”

“That’s a terrible habit.”

“Why be embarrassed? I do it every day.”

“There’s a difference between doing it willingly and being cornered into it!”

“Then say it willingly, Jaha.”

Finally, Jaha realized why he was being so mischievous. He must have been dissatisfied with always being the one to initiate—feeling like he was the only one who wanted it, leaving him both insecure and frustrated, as if their relationship was one-sided rather than mutual.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t understand. But realistically, she needed to have some energy left to even think about seduction.

He’d pounce on her at any given moment, drain her completely, and then still expect her to be the one to ask for it? These days, she’d collapse into sleep the second her head hit the pillow—what kind of energy was she supposed to have left?

Did this man sell his conscience to the Middle East or something? I thought petroleum was made from decomposed organic matter, but turns out it’s just this guy’s rotten morals.

Noticing her sour expression, he leaned in, tilting his head to meet her eyes.

“Jaha?”

There it was—his worst habit. Ever since he’d figured out she was weak to his unfairly handsome face, he’d weaponize it whenever he was at a disadvantage, closing the distance to attack her with his looks.

And Jaha, simple as ever, would usually relent. Not that she’d ever been truly angry—just exhausted from how insatiable he was.

Aside from the excessive frequency of their intimacy, he was practically flawless. He treated her impeccably, never once raising his voice, no matter the situation.

His refined speech, dignified bearing, the effortless grace in even the smallest gestures—it all made him seem like he belonged to a different world. Even if Jaha spent a century learning etiquette, she’d never match him. She couldn’t help but admire—and adore—that aristocratic elegance.

Her face grew inexplicably hot, and she jerked her head away.

“I’m not mad, so stop crowding me.”

“Then stop looking elsewhere and look at me.”

“You’re way too close. It’s overwhelming.”

“But you like my face.”

Grinning, he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her flush against him. Jaha desperately tried to turn away, but—

“No, I don’t.”

Even to her own ears, the denial lacked conviction. A lie they both saw through.

Undeterred, he pressed soft, teasing kisses to the stubbornly turned curve of her cheek—as if daring her to keep ignoring him. The ticklish sensation finally broke her resolve, and a laugh escaped before she could stifle it.

“Ah—stop it!”

“You only ever tell me to stop. When will I hear you beg for more?”

“If you want to hear it so badly, try holding back for once.”

“I am holding back.”

This was him holding back? When he already took her day and night without restraint? What would happen if he didn’t hold back?

Reading her horrified expression, he smiled, devastatingly pretty.

“Really won’t look at me? I want to kiss you.”

His whisper, warm against her ear, sent fine hairs rising on her skin. Defeated, Jaha turned her face toward him and closed her eyes.

His lips met hers gently as he pushed her skirt up. When his fingers slid along her inner thigh, she tensed—but kept her eyes shut.

Once, mid-kiss, she’d made the mistake of opening them. His gaze had locked onto hers, dark and bottomless, like a predator sizing up prey. The sheer intensity had seared her spine with primal terror.

By nature, Jaha was a creature of civilization. Sheltered by society’s rules, she’d never known violence—neither as perpetrator nor victim. Yet even her dulled instincts recognized it:

The man before her was an apex predator. One who could devour her whole without a second thought.

‘He won’t hurt me. There’s no reason to.’

Though he made that claim, Yoo Jaha couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes again, squeezing them shut every time they kissed. She thought her actions were like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, foolishly believing it could hide from a predator.

Her thoughts didn’t linger long. The rising heat of her body spread like a d**g, the familiar pleasure eroding her senses. Swallowed by terrifying euphoria, she trembled uncontrollably, barely noticing when their lips parted before a thick, swollen tip pushed into the gap.

As the thick, rigid shaft filled her, every erogenous zone inside was pressed taut. Jaha’s eyelids fluttered at the sensation.

His words had been true—even if it was hard to accept at first, she’d soon come to enjoy it.
