Chapter 205
What could she do to shift her mood? She needed something stimulating. Something that would drown out all other thoughts, something relentless.
In this world where there were no games, no internet, no TV—only one form of entertainment came to mind.
After confirming her target, Jaha moved.
The handsome man reviewing documents lifted his gaze. His flawlessly golden hair swayed softly with the motion.
Good-looking people really do turn everyday life into a photoshoot.
Of course, it wasn’t just about looks. Strangely enough, Jaha had never seen him let his guard down.
When people are at home, they usually wear comfortable clothes and relax in various ways, but he never did that. He always shone like a celebrity fully prepared for cameras to rush in at any moment.
Clothing that maintained a certain level of formality, an exterior neatly groomed from head to toe. A perfection with no blind spots.
In short, he was an exceptional man who was also thorough in self-care. And he seemed very accustomed to such things.
At times, he seemed like someone who had lived his entire life surrounded by countless eyes—in a cruel world where everyone was frantic to find a weakness, leaving no room for any gaps.
‘Is this normal for nobles?’
While she was momentarily dazed by his attractive appearance, which her eyes helplessly followed, he rose from his chair.
“Jaha.”
Even in that short call, joy and an excited feeling could be sensed. Without any lengthy embellishments or sweet words—just her name spoken plainly.
So transparent. No, more precisely, it was that he had no intention of hiding his feelings.
Jaha stared intently at Rikanan.
The peak of unreality. Could this man make me forget everything?
She grabbed the face that had come within reach, made him bend his waist, and rose onto her tiptoes to press her lips directly against his.
For a moment, he stiffened like stone, then immediately wrapped his solid arms around Jaha’s waist, holding her as if to crush her, and poured kisses onto her.
It wasn’t his usual skilled and composed demeanor—instead, an excited, frantic, almost crazed passion was conveyed, and Jaha, too, ended up burning up in response.
“Haa, ha.”
Just before reaching the limit, their lips parted. Jaha gasped for breath. Her head spun from the lack of air and the scorching heat.
This was the answer after all. To blast away useless thoughts.
When she placed her hand on his broad chest, his firm body flinched slightly. Even after seeing everything, his nervous reaction—as if it were his first time being touched—stirred a strange sense of satisfaction and superiority in her.
As she gently stroked his chest, his throat let out a low growl, as if being strangled, even though she hadn’t touched it.
His eyes, heated and ferociously gleaming, were at odds with his restraint—like a well-trained dog waiting for its owner’s permission. Jaha spoke to him:
“You said you wanted to hear it. Me begging you first.”
She could see his prominent Adam’s apple bobbing visibly.
“I want it, Rikanan.”
He made a creaking noise, like something broken, then stiffened and seized her.
The next moment, the world flipped upside down. When she regained her senses, she was in his arms, being carried somewhere.
Striding swiftly to the bedroom, he set her down on the bed and roughly yanked off his cravat. Then, silently, he began undoing his buttons—his gaze never leaving her for a second.
Meeting his ice-blue eyes, which looked ready to devour her, Jaha spoke:
“Be rough with me.”
She wanted to be ruined. To be punished, to be driven to the brink of losing her mind.
“And say filthy things to me.”
The moment she whispered the addition, he muttered a low curse, then swept his bangs back.
Jaha flinched. This man, the very embodiment of nobility, had never once sworn before.
“Are you determined to test me?”
He muttered as if astonished, then cupped Jaha’s face in his hands, his thumb gently brushing her cheek. Despite his tone, the gesture was impossibly careful.
“And yet, if I actually get rough and say filthy things, you’ll hate it.”
His narrowed eyes, gauging her reaction, resembled those of a beast poised to hunt.
Jaha swallowed dryly and clasped the back of his hand.
“Not today.”
Normally, of course, she would. But just as there are days when a food you’d never usually crave suddenly comes to mind—something you wouldn’t even pay for, something completely unlike your tastes—today was one of those inexplicable days.
“Because today, I’m in the mood for it.”
The hand stroking her cheek abruptly stilled. Jaha sensed she had pressed some kind of button inside him. A limiter release switch, perhaps.
She could feel his control snapping. A shivering thrill raced down her spine, but she wasn’t afraid. She held absolute certainty that this man would never harm her.
